His past experiences with the Ashura-kai, notably under Tayama’s leadership, was quick to sour his opinion on the organization, tolerating it now as a necessary evil to help rebuild and maintain the peace in these times of growth. It was no fault of Hallulujah’s, What little he saw of him lead the samurai to know he was a fine man, but the negative association to the group lingered. The last thing the samurai wished was to insult the one before him due to his bias.
Now, how does one speak to the new leader of an organization he has a poor past with, who is kind? How strangely complicated. Or, more then likely, he was merely overthinking things..
He nods. “Indeed, perhaps aiding in there.. own way?” Yet another organization he has poor history with. He certainly made enemies during this past ordeal, hasn’t he? “ Yes. Closing the gate and expelling the demons will be quite the undertaking, I can only hope it doesn’t take overly long. It’ll likely be the last to be done.”
“They’re good at killing demons, at least, and that leaves the Ashura-kai free to help transport and distribute supplies, and the Hunter Association to deal with the gate,” Hallelujah said with a rueful shrug.
There was no love lost between the Ashura-kai and the Ring of Gaea. He liked Toki, but she’d left the Ring, and wasn’t really representative of what most of them were like anyway. Especially not those nasty old ladies.
The gate to the expanse really was the number one issue on everyone’s minds. “I wish the Ashura-kai could help more with the gate, though,” Hallelujah sighed. “Since it was under our jurisdiction for so long. But the only one who really knew anything about it was Mr. Tayama, and he didn’t leave any information about it behind when he went missing…”
Hallelujah knew that in Tokyo, ‘went missing’ almost certainly meant ‘dead.’ But he couldn’t help but say ‘missing’ or ‘disappeared,’ for both Tayama and his mother. It was just… easier to believe the people who’d raised him were still out there, somewhere. Being abandoned was better than being an orphan.
“Quite good indeed, I’m thankful for their efforts in that respect.” It helps to have fewer demons to be concerned about, certainly made recovery easier and safer. Especially for those without demons or means to defend themselves.
He frowns instinctively. If he had any true idea what would have happened with his first visit to the reactor, Perhaps he could have gotten more answers before Tayama’s disappearance. There was no good lamenting for past mistakes, but..
“I wish that I myself learned anything about the device before his disappearance... Perhaps I could have provided a little insight.” He shakes his head, banishing it of those thoughts. He didn’t wish to correct ‘disappearance’ with death, despite seeing his body himself. In Tokyo, the meaning was clear, after all.
“No use bemoaning it, either way. We’ll just have to discover the method for ourselves, together.”
