I love Matilda because it's a story about a child who sees injustice around her and gets mad about it and questions why things aren't fair, and instead of the ending being that she learns how the world works and that life isn't fair, she catapults one of the adults who abused her out of a building with her mind
One massive, legitimate way to improve as a writer or artist or in any creative endeavor really, is to become absolutely obsessed with something and to allow yourself to be weird about it. Genuinely mean this btw.

"taken" style action movie where a man searches for his wife. as he fights baddies in gunfights and hand-to-hand combat, it's slowly revealed that:
- his wife hasn't been kidnapped
- their marriage is not healthy or functional
- this guy isn't rescuing his wife, he's hunting her down
- his wife is a crime boss, those are her henchpeople he's fighting in a john-wick bloodbath
the tension builds until, drenched in blood, our protagonist steps forward for the final showdown. he pulls a manila envelope from his bullet-torn jacket and throws it at his wife's feet. he's just spent an entire trilogy biting & killing & maiming....all so he can deliver his shit wife her divorce papers

PSA: Don't use Open Office
I keep seeing people recommending Open Office as an alternative to Word, and uh... look, it is, technically, an open source alternative to Word. And it can do a lot of what Word can, genuinely! But it is also an abandoned project that hasn't been updated in nine years, and there's an active fork of it which is still receiving updates, and that fork is called LibreOffice, and it's fantastic.
Seriously, if you think that your choices are either "grit your teeth and pay Microsoft for a subscription" or "support free software but have a kind of subpar office suite experience", I guarantee that it's because you're working with outdated information, or outdated software. Most people I know who have used the latest version of LibreOffice prefer it to Word. I even know a handful of people who prefer it to Scrivener.
Open Office was the original project, and so it has the most name recognition, and as far as I can tell, that's really the only reason people are still recommending it. It's kind of like if people were saying "hey, the iPhone 14 isn't your only smart phone option!" but then were only ever recommending the Samsung Galaxy S5 as an alternative. LibreOffice is literally a version of the same exact program as Open Office that's just newer and better – please don't get locked into using a worse tool just because the updated version of the program has a different name!

For anyone who still doesn't quite get what this means: it's essentially providing protection against AI / computer generated, photoshopped, and deepfaked CSEM. It has nothing to do with lolisho. Lolisho does not fall under CSEM laws in the USA. However, it should be noted that lolisho (and I presume other forms of fictional underage?) may fall under obscenity laws, depending on where you live and if it crosses state lines. There's more nuances to it than that (CSEM is typically also obscenity, but not all obscenity is CSEM; obscenity laws have been long criticized as archaic, subjective, and difficult to prosecute, since how do you define something having "artistic value"?), but that's the basic gist.
justice.gov contains a thorough explanation of CSEM and obscenity laws in the US. Again, it's important to stress that just because something is considered obscene, does not mean it's CSEM or prosecutable as CSEM. The use of the word "minor" is also, 99% of the time, referring to real people. The term is non-applicable to a fictional character from a legal standpoint, since they don't have rights to begin with.
