tonight was homecoming, it was a blast, i hung out with hella rad people, but one thing put me off my night.

i was dress coded. the rules of the dance (for females) were: •strapless gowns must be floor length •high/low strapless allowed however must be no higher than four (4) inches above the knee •short dress (no shorter than four (4) inches) must have straps attached to the dress •low cut tops that expose cleavage and/or low backs (whole or partially) are not allowed •spandex or excessively tight dresses are not permitted - even if they can be pulled down •dresses that have cut outs or high slits are not allowed.

which one did i break? none of them. however, i was pulled aside with a group of five other girls (ALL within dress code) for violating the dress code.

why? you ask.

because my dress is “flowy” and if i dance the “wrong” way, then of course my dress will fly up and expose - heaven forbid - my legs and perhaps my covered womanhood. (i don’t even dance!!) the principal (a male) and activities director (a woman) both lectured the six of us, the activities directer the most! told us that even they have daughters with long legs (because we were all tall and in heels - for the most part) that could find a dress at appropriate length. we were told that they “know how [we] dance,” and our dresses will ride up and expose things.

so our principal struck up a deal. if we were pulled from the dance because our dresses hike up, we would be given two (2), four (4) hour long saturday detentions for dress code violations.

might i add, i also live in a desert where it was 90+ degrees tonight. i believe my dress was and is appropriate. oh, and tickets were (without usb) $30.

my dress, •was not too short (measuring it was definitely less than four inches) •was not “excessively tight” •did not have cut outs, expose cleavage or have any slits •and was not strapless

i am 5'9" and a size two (2), finding a dress my size that is appropriate length, is not easy. i did not break dress code. it was 90+ degrees. and it was an outdoor dance. but somehow, i was dress coded.

Project Don’t Stop

Hello everyone!

I’ve been planning this for the past few months, and I’m super excited to show you guys Project Don’t Stop.

This is going to be a photography series featuring my favorite band, 5 Seconds Of Summer. I am minoring in photography so I combined my two favorite things and I wanted to share it with you all, and I also want you all to participate in it.

For the next few months I am going to be taking pictures of anything that consists of 5sos, and you guys are. What’s going to happen is, I am going to make this series into a digital scrapbook and post it on here for everyone to see and also 5sos-official can see it as well and fawn over their fans beautiful photography. 

Rules:

1. You do NOT need to own a professional camera. I know some people cannot afford expensive cameras so you can use any kind of camera (point-and-shoot, phone, etc etc). Photography is photography, no matter what kind of camera you use. 

2. It does NOT have to be pictures of their merchandise, you can take a photo of anything, for example, writing lyrics on a piece of paper, concert photos of the boys, posters, photos of your fanart, honestly just anything that is 5sos related.

3. It has to be your photo, no stealing or reposting others’ photography. 

4. You are going to email your photos to projectdontstop@gmail.com and please send the original photo, i’ll be doing the editing and cropping (the photo needs to be a large size btw)
