Summary: While hiking to Arthur’s mother’s old cabin for a weekend getaway, his friends ask why Arthur hasn’t just married his boyfriend Merlin yet.

Comment: This story is wonderful, and I loved the addition of dragons to a normal, every day hike. I really liked the glimpses we got of Merlin and Arthur’s relationship, the dynamic between the two of them and how they are seen by their friends. I also liked that Merlin was the one to make a bold move (despite it giving Arthur a heart attack), and the different type of magic reveal this story covers.

Summary: Merlin has these 'hunches' about upcoming events, or that's what he tells Arthur every time he is questioned. While Arthur finds it odd, he finds that it is best to listen to Merlin's 'hunches'. And one day, he finds out the truth, after he finds Merlin napping in his bed.

Comment: It was interesting how things changed slightly yet most of the series remained the same with Merlin’s intervention, I like that he couldn’t change everything. Arthur’s acceptance of it all was wonderfully written too.

A Night Without Stars

Summary: A time of peace prosperity in Camelot is interrupted when Prince Consort Merlin falls suddenly ill. Discovering that it is the result of someone poisoning the ley lines, Arthur embarks on a quest into the far north in the hope of healing the damage before it’s too late. Meanwhile, other dangers loom on the horizon. War approaches and Merlin isn’t so sure Camelot will be able to withstand it.

Reader’s Comment: I really like how this fic throws everyone and everything into absolute chaos, and then rips just about every safeguard away from our beloved characters and forces them to really think and work outside the box, and to learn what battles to fight and which battles you just can’t win.

Five-Star Hospitality by A_Diamond

Arthur Pendragon, smug asshole businessman, somehow manages to be unlike any asshole businessman Merlin’s dealt with as the night manager of one of New York’s finest five star hotels. Something seems to be building between them, but just when it heats up, it all comes crashing down. Merlin’s left to pick up the pieces of a heart that shouldn’t feel so broken from just a couple weeks of flirting and a single kiss.
