The number of times that I come back to reread your spn x Pac Rim crossover fic is honestly embarrassing at this point. But at the same time it's hard to be embarrassed about enjoying such a wonderful fic.
Like, the worldbuilding. That universe is mother-effing dense with feeling and culture and history; it is truly multidimensional, and I feel like you've done what the original screenwriters tried and failed to do: make a believable lore that not only makes sense, but feels real. You've shown how hunters (people whose professions are literally to kill freaky shit) would find their place in a world that gets thrown on it's head; how they feel in their element and out of their depths all at once. Gotdamn, before reading this fix years ago I never would have thought the two universes would fit together, but my oh my they do.
Also, gah, just the relationships. Humans truly do band together in times of crises, and romance aside, seeing them build friendships and trust and respect with other humans is just delightful. It makes so much sense that Sammy would want to help on the ground rather than fight. That boy has done enough world saving for a million lifetimes. And then Dean and Cas... Yeah, it makes sense that they'd stay for the fight. They are so selfless that of course they'd choose to use their expertise to save people. (And of course cas would stay human! Not just for the ones he loves, but for himself). And then oc, with the boys and also with others, she just grows so much, into herself and into her environment. She's meant to be there, doing what she's doing.
I mean, don't even get me started on the fluff/angst/smut. Everything so was perfectly balanced with a lean towards angst (as it should, because it's a dark time), and my heart ached for them, longed with them. They've been through so much shit together, and they're still here.
I just. This story captivates me mind and soul. If you couldn't tell. I feel like I could wax poetic for ages, but instead I'll just go give it another read or two.
