rvb60min 9, based on this image taked by une**

i guess i didn’t really end up focusing on the original picture much, but it jjust made me thing of york making carolina pancakes or something and her just laughing at york in an apron. “york what are you wearing?” “it’s an apron” “yeah, but, it’s pink” “i prefer the term ‘lightish red’”

my problem is figuring out who he stole it from. it wouldn’t be florida, cause i doubt york is stupid enough to steal stuff from him. and i have no clue who else would have one. maybe north? or maybe C.T. or south gave it to him on the terms of him not telling ANYONE where he got it. also, i’m imagining everyone on the ship fighting carolina for the strawberry pancakes.

so yeh, you get some happy yorkalina this time.

rvb60min 8, Two Steps From Hell’s ‘All is Hell that Ends Well’

this week was hard to think of, but then i realized that it sorta reminded me of the break in. so you get some yorkalina angst, north vs south, and tex meeting church.

“fun” side note- i had to get a reference image for north(york as well, but that wasn’t interesting), and since i don’t have 2 sniper rifles to reference, i used crutches. worked ok, they have a similer shape as a sniper rifle, and i didn’t have long enough cardboard tubes so.

i was originally going to have north’s sniper rifle not cut off and going more horizontal, but once i got a reference i realized that it really was more vertical than i thought, so i ended up having to cut that off a bit. also, i still suck at drawing guns. and helmets are hard

and i was going to draw some armor on church, but i just didn’t have the time

[Theme 5/26/15 - 6/8/15]

We’ll be trying something new where themes will be two weeks long instead of one. Since it’s finals/graduation time of the year (for at least the states) we’ll try this method out to not put so much pressure on participating and this way maybe you will be inclined to do past themes.

We’ll see how it goes.

The theme is:

Song: Two Steps From Hell - All Is Hell That Ends Well
(I feel like I’m ready for battle!)

Rules:

  • No need to sign up!
  • Create your pieces in only 60 minutes inspired by the theme

RVB60Min Weekly prompt: March 27th, 2015

╔════════════════════════════════════╗

                                 He said, she said.

╚════════════════════════════════════╝

Fandom: Red Versus Blue Character: General Vanessa Kimball, Agent Carolina Rating: T Ship: Kimbalina Word Count: 1503 Time Count: 45 Minutes Notes: This prompt was a bit harder for me flow wise. But I like here it ended.

Name Calling

An army runs on its stomach.

It’s a saying that General Vanessa Kimball of the New Republic of Chorus has heard so many times before. In fact, it’s a concept she understands rather well. To have a functioning army one must not only be able to provide them with weaponry and protective gear and leadership, but also keep them fed. It used to be that Felix did that well for them. In addition to his raids leading to the acquisition of weapons and ammunition, it also resulted in the stockpiling of food. Not much of it, of course, but enough to keep them running at a good level.

RVB60Min Weekly prompt: March 20th, 2015

╔════════════════════════════════════╗

Around here, everyone has a story about summer.

╚════════════════════════════════════╝

Fandom: Red Versus Blue Character: General Donald Doyle Rating: G Word Count: 342 Time Count: 10 Minutes Notes: This one I just wanted to write a brief, introspective story for. It ended up far briefer than I imagined, and used a lot less of the time. But in the end I found I didn’t need so many words to get what I wanted out. To make this longer would have been too long I think. Chorusian Summers

Summer is a hard time on the Federal Army of Chorus, even with all of their snowbound bases.

RVB60Min Weekly prompt: March 13th, 2015

╔════════════════════════════════════╗

                         Once, she knew kindness.

╚════════════════════════════════════╝

Fandom: Red Versus Blue Character: Agent Carolina, Agent York Rating: T Word Count: 2856 Time Count: 55 Minutes Notes: My husband heard the challenge content and said ‘why don’t you write York and Carolina meeting, that lighter thing’. And so I did. Poem referenced herein is Fire and Ice by Robert Frost, my favorite poem.

Between Desire and Hatred

They say your life flashes before your eyes right before you die.

If that’s the truth then either Charlotte Church, known in the military as Agent Carolina of Project Freelancer, has had a rather boring life. The very concept, a small part of her mind tells her, is rather unfair. After all, what can be boring about being betrayed by one of your best friends as he tears AI fragments heavily integrated into your brain out, physically? What can be boring about then, in a moment where your mind is going through a strange sort of combination of hard reset and purging of vital functions, being thrown over the edge of an icy cliff toward an undoubtedly watery fate? What can be boring about the fight she had with Tex or the one sided combat she’d had minutes before that with York? How can her life not fixate on the missions she did well and the friends she saved and high school and her childhood or even her mother?

I really like the prompts; I'm not always inspired by them, but when I am, they kind of force me write outside of my comfort zone. I just haven't attempted any the past few weeks because it's finals time (and I think that may be true for a lot of people; May is often a bad month). It might be fun if sometimes the prompts were songs or images instead of a phrase, but any which way you choose to do it, they're enjoyable. If the blog is troublesome to run, maybe you could find a co-mod?

That’s kind of the point of all this. To make participants think outside of the box.

This blog isn’t troublesome to run by myself. I log on, check the tag, reblog, and leave, but since there is a lack of entries, there is nothing to ‘mod’ and reblog.

This week is a song.

Next week I’ll try an image.

But like I said, if the next couple of weeks just garner a few participants, I’ll probably end up doing a new theme every other week so people can go back and look at past themes on their own time and not feel pressure to participate every week.

Thanks

I like having the prompts, even though I don't write for it, it still give me prompts for my characters. I'm not much of one to write fanfiction but i enjoy reading what the others have done. So I'd love it for you to keep going, maybe one day i'll sit down to write one to submit.

We’ll keep going for a couple of weeks and see how it turns out. If only 1 or 2 people enter like it has been the past several weeks then I might space out prompts to every other week or maybe close all together and I’ll just post where I’ve been getting prompts for anyone who wants to do them. We’ll see!

Thank you for the feedback!

hey, just wondering why there hasn't been a theme posted yet for this week. also thought i'd share how much fun i've been having with this, and it's a great idea. it's fun to have a bit of a challenge here and there, and i'm in high hopes for higher participation in the future cause it's always fun to see what other people's creativity can make.(if this is stopping or pausing for some reason i understand, i just wanted to know what's going on)

(I hope you don’t mind I publish this)

Honestly, since you and maybe one and two others have been the ONLY participants in the past several weeks, I thought that maybe it was time to retire the blog. Or at least try something new like songs or something.

But if you are actively reaching out, then I’ll try to keep this blog going. We’ll see how it goes in the next several weeks.

Thank you for you interest!

i finally finished a thing! worked on last week’s rvb60min, ‘they couldn’t have died at a worse time’, so now you get some epsi-wash angst.

i finally figured out how to get the stupid lineless to work. note: cell shading works well on lineless armor i dunno, not much to say on this one. except that maybe it should have had more blood *maniacaly stupid laughter*

rvb60min, week 6, “someone telling the truth isn’t believed”

this was just C.T. angst fuel. i mean really. oh right, you may have noticed i found my tablet pen. y’know, because i drew a thing. also, look! i got this one done early in the week! maybe that means i’ll get it redone sometime soon no it doesn’t !

the figures at the bottom took a surprising amount of time, like as much of the face. the took about half hour each, leaving me with not much for making it look nice-ish. so it’s even more WIP looking than usual. i’m finding that these topics are great for anatomy practice, because drawing multiple people at speed is pretty good for practice. it keeps you from focusing on one thing for too long.

hmm… i think i’ll make my usual art rant short this time, i need to sleep. although i really want to work on this more. grrraahhrg
