Whew, boy! Never thought I’d make it this far! Honestly, I never even expected to make it past 100 followers, let alone 800 of you darling people! It gives me a warm feeling in my chest knowing so many people are seeing the stories of these characters that I’ve so lovingly created, and it honestly brings me up from even my lowest points to know that even a single person can find pleasure in or maybe even relate to my characters and their varying personalities and struggles.  So, since I am at a milestone such as this and several other roleplayers that I look up to have been kind enough to include me in their own lists, I think it’s about time for me to jump on this bandwagon and make my very own follow forever!

Please note that there are probably going to be several people that I miss or forget to include here, and just because you might not see your url on here, it doesn’t mean I don’t want to get to know you or roleplay with you!

Now without further ado, let’s get started!

The Diamonds ♫These are the people whom throughout my three years role playing I have developed the strongest bonds with. We may or may not talk as much as we used to, and we may have been acquainted though old accounts, but they’re people who I still very much hold dear to me, both memories and the present, and I feel as though they deserve special mention and notes.

shslfreaksandgeeks: What can I say about Sara besides the fact that she’s been one of my good friends since the beginning? Not only have each one of your characters stolen my heart, but your own kindness and friendship has as well. We’ve had so many good laughs, good cries over each others characters, and so many feelings shared both IC and OOC. I think it’s safe to say that even though we don’t talk as much since I left shslmanytalents and the DR OC community behind, you’re still one of my best friends I could have ever made and no matter what this world has in store for you, always know that I’m rooting for you, one hundred percent!

shsl-utaite: Ri-mun, you were and always will be a person I look up to, not just for your talent for writing and for art, but also for what an amazing person you are. As long as I can remember, you put forth so much positivity into the community even in the face of so much toxicity that almost all of my memories of the community itself are nothing but fond. You are a blessing unto everyone you meet, and especially onto me. You gave me the courage to get out there and interact with more and more people in the community than I could have ever done on my own, so for that, I’d like to thank you personally. I wish you nothing but happiness as you continue brightening others lives through your kindness, encouragement, and written word.

The Pearls ♫

These are those that I have roleplayed with and talked with already, regardless of time and possibly through other accounts, that I feel are sweethearts who I would love to get to know better! From characters to muns themselves, they show their skills and their beautiful personalities everyday, and deserve some special mention and thanks!

The Opals ♫

These are people that either from a result of my own shyness or just a lack of a way to introduce myself, I have yet to interact with. Nonetheless, I still thoroughly enjoy seeing these people on my dash and have a strong desire to some day possibly interact, if the chance ever presents itself. Keep on keeping on!

And finally, I’d like to just give an overall thank you to everyone that is following! Whether or not you’re on this list, you still mean so much to me and I’m glad that I can somehow lighten your day in any way possible. Thank you again, and may nothing but happiness come your way!

"Ken~ Ken!!"

All she wanted to do was get a little praise for her good grades, that’s all. It was a big occasion, passing this test—it was enough for a head pat, two honey buns and maybe even a piggy-back ride! And with that excitement, Riku didn’t mind barging into the room with a wide grin—

Only for it to fall immediately.

It was strange, seeing such a tall, strong male hunched over like that, head in his hands as if all has been ruined. Never had she imagined his voice broken like that, filled with sorrow she probably couldn’t even begin to guess. Each time a hiccup and a “get out” was uttered, her throat just tightened up on itself even more, some sinking feeling making her fingers twitch involuntarily. So, this is what it was like, huh?

To witness the strongest person in your life fall apart.

"……"

Closing the door behind her, the girl trotted into the room without much else to say and took a kneel on the ground, right at his feet. It didn’t take time at all for her to reach up and pat those hands that covered his eyes, touch so gentle it was almost as if she hadn’t touched him at all.

"It’s alright, Kenken!"

Avatar

"Of course. I can easily carry around anyone up to Orochi’s size, so don’t worry about it," he reassured, not wanting the girl to feel like a burden. Especially not after their conversation beforehand.

Kenshin turned around, promptly kneeling on the ground in front of her and waiting expectantly. “Hm.. I’ll consider it. Make sure to behave yourself or I’ll have to kick you off of the Kenshin Train.”

"Kenshin train~"

Riku was in a fit of giggles by those two words—but even so, she climbed onto his back with no problem, making sure her skirt didn’t ride up too much. It’d be a bit embarrassing if that happened, especially for Kenshin… Well, maybe not really, but still.

Once situated, the girl patted his shoulders, kicking her legs slightly in excitement. “On a trip on the Kenshin train! Choo choo~ choo choo~”

"All aboard? Woo woo." If anyone could make those words sound monotone yet cheerful, it was Kenshin. Of course, he had to keep going with this playful act, pretending to struggle to stand with her on his back. "K-Kurosaki-san, what have you been eating, I can barely sta-- nah I'm kidding, I'm so strong." With the barest hint of a smile he hopped up in one quick motion, making sure that Riku was settled on his back.

"Aaand the Kenshin Train is departing the station," the drummer announced, trotting out of the room with ease. "Though you'll have to direct me to the vending machine with the milk tea in it, it isn't often I head that way.."

Send me a :’( and my character will react to yours spontaneously bursting into tears.

"—!!” For him to just start bawling right when coming back home, of course she wasn’t prepared for that. Sina had a way of surprising her at times, and though crying was rather common, she still wasn’t perfectly okay with seeing his tears, not just yet.

Even so, she offered him a smile, something she was rather sure he wanted to see.

"Oh, Sina, come here. What’s wrong? Was someone being mean to you while I was gone? Did you have a bad dream?" Her tone was soft and reassuring, reaching out as if to offer an embrace.

Orochi kept his promise of not looking, only moving from his position of staring out the window to bury his face in Riku’s hair— and even then, he closed his eyes as he transitioned.

”..This sucks, I know it does. It hurts and it’s not fair on anyone. I love Sina to death, and I know you do too, but.. he’s really an emotionally exhausting person. I want to take care of him, to fix him, but it’s hard and draining to try, I know it. It’s not fair on anyone involved.” He was just talking to fill the silence, really. He was sure Riku didn’t want him listening to her soft sobbing, so he spoke his thoughts instead. That would work, right?

Orochi sighed, giving Riku’s shoulders a squeeze. “..You don’t have to tackle it on your own. If we’re going to make any sort of progress, we gotta lean on each other, y’know? We all have to— you, me, Raiden, Kenshin, we’ve gotta stick together to help him through whatever he’s going through right now. And the same goes in any other direction, for any of us who need help. Family doesn’t give up on each other.”

"I-It’s strange. I’m not used to it…" Riku replied, a pang of bitter dread causing her to frown once again. She really did hate it when these sorts of things came out of her mouth. Even so, she was sure that Orochi wouldn’t judge her—not that she would like to admit that, either. A little judgement never hurt her, she deserved it.

Finally letting go of his arms, she opted to harshly rub her eyes again, shaking her head.

"I’m sorry, it’s not enough, I need to try harder. My place with everyone….I still haven’t found it…I don’t know it yet, what should I do? I’m trying my best…I am! My place with…" A hiccup surprised her, causing her sentence to stop short with a dulled pain in her throat.

Orochi fell silent for a few moments, contemplative. He then unwrapped his arms from Riku, his head going back up to look at the window as his hands gently grasped her shoulders and turned her around in order to pull her close against his chest. His chin went back atop her head, arms wrapped tight in their new position around her.

"..You really don't get it, do you? You might not be able to see it, but you absolutely have a place with us. You're Sina's girlfriend, you're Kenshin's daughter, Raiden's older sister, and my little meimei. None of us let people in easy, even more so when we're all together in a group, and you holding those titles is enough to show how much we want you around. It doesn't matter how useful you can be, it doesn't matter if you can fix everything, we want you here for you. So you don't have to try so hard all the time, yeah? You've earned your spot and it's not going anywhere anytime soon, you can relax and rely on us now and then."

At this point Orochi broke his promise, paternal instincts winning over his morality; he pulled back just enough to take Riku's face in his hands, wiping away her tears with his thumbs and pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "You're family-- we love you unconditionally. That's not going to change."

Orochi ended up resting his free hand on Riku’s other shoulder, soon letting them slide forward til he had his arms loosely wrapped around her shoulders, his chin resting on the top of her head. He made sure that his grip was loose enough that she could get out of it if she wanted to, not knowing whether or not she wanted to be held in times of distress.

”..You can let go. See? I’m not even looking.” It was true— Orochi’s eyes were glued firmly to the window, not looking down at her unless she gave him permission to. She didn’t seem like the type to like showing her stress, but he refused to let her go without some form of comfort, either.

Frown still present, Riku shifted a little when she felt herself being hugged, fingers clinging to his the arms that were around her. A giggle left her as permission as given, unwilling to look up from her intent gaze in her to her shoes to even check if he was telling the truth or not. Let go, he says.

She hadn’t even realized that she was crying until drops landed on her hands, sliding down one after another without much provoking. Taking a breath in, she could hear her shaky breath changing pitches as she shook her head.

"…Don’t look, kay?"

She hated it, crying about something she couldn’t handle on her own. Even though it happened every now and then, that dislike was still there.

As time passed, her silent tears soon caused a sniffle and stifled sobs come from her, though for the most part, she kept it as silent as she could. She didn’t want to hurt Orochi even more than she already was, letting him hold her when she was being a child and know she was in this state.

Orochi kept his promise of not looking, only moving from his position of staring out the window to bury his face in Riku's hair-- and even then, he closed his eyes as he transitioned.

"I feel.. odd, sharing my troubles with others. It’s not something I tend to do often," came his mellow reply. He was glad that she had gone with the subject change, and his eyes lightened a bit at her enthusiasm. Ah, it was good to be able to relax with someone, especially since he had nearly blurted out more information than he should.

"How about two milk teas and I’ll carry you there on my back?" the drummer offered, huffing out a soft laugh. That would surely appease her; she was always trying to get a piggyback ride, anyways.

"Really?! You’ll let me go on your back?"

She was asking as if he was joking aroudn with her, having known his policy about being carried. He seemed okay with carrying Raiden around, but Raiden was smaller than she was.

With a squeal of delight, the girls hands shot up in the air, flopping back so she fell onto the bed. “Yatta~ Alright, deal! Let me stand on your feet on the way back, too. Please~?”

"Of course. I can easily carry around anyone up to Orochi's size, so don't worry about it," he reassured, not wanting the girl to feel like a burden. Especially not after their conversation beforehand.

"Ah…Is that so?"

Riku was detaching herself, it seemed. Her voice was distant, trying to force and lock this new information in her head instead of mulling over it, over and over again. But, knowing herself, her mind wasn’t going to let it drop as easily as she wanted to. Even so, she tried. After the computer was shut off, she went to turn off Akira and close the window—

She didn’t even notice that Orochi had gotten up until she felt his hand on her shoulder, fingers twitching against the curtains. lowly they lost their grip, sliding down to her side while the other came closer to her face.

"—I’m not playing superwoman. I’m being me, that should be enough, right?"

Lips pressed to a thin like, she could feel the stinging in her eyes grow worse, water clouding her vision briefly. Roughly rubbing her eyes with her wrist, she tried to will herself to stop the pain in her eyes—she shouldn’t let Orochi see her cry, it wasn’t right.

Orochi ended up resting his free hand on Riku's other shoulder, soon letting them slide forward til he had his arms loosely wrapped around her shoulders, his chin resting on the top of her head. Quiet settled between the two for a few moments after that. At least Kenshin wasn’t panicking— no, now his feelings were that of dreaded acceptance. Besides, he shouldn’t be troubling anyone else with his issues.

”..My apologies for bringing up such a heavy topic,” he settled on, his eyes finally opening and looking down at Riku once more. “As an apology and to celebrate your test score, I’ll buy you a milk tea. Does that sound good?”

"Huh, really?" Looking up, Riku’s curiosity peeked up once again, surprised by the sudden change of topic. He wanted to drop it, huh? His apologies made her pout slightly, shaking her head in rejection.

"You shouldn’t apologize for wanting to talk about something! I’ll always listen to what you have to say, its no problem, so don’t say sorry…" Her voice trailed off before she perked up once again, holding her hand up high in the air, air changing from solemn to that of cheery enthusiasm. "B-But I still want a milk tea! Three milk teas’! I worked super hard~"

He’d fucked up.

He’d fucked up and he knew it, and there was no way to fix it now. Orochi’s face slowly faded from shock to something unreadable, though his guilt was still vividly apparent in his eyes. Instead of stepping away, he remained fixed in his spot, unsure if he even could move.

Meanwhile, Sina was silent as he was moved over to the bed, having regained control of his breathing. His cheek still stung, but he hardly registered it. Hardly registered anything, really. After any panic attack he had, he’d close himself off afterwards to recover, to shield himself. It was the only option.

A few long moments passed before Sina gently pushed Riku’s hands away with his own shaking ones, slowly coming up to a stand. “..I.. I-I’m going to go to my room, I really.. really just want to sleep right now..” He’d apologize later, when he was fully coherent, but right now it wouldn’t mean anything. With that, Sina slipped out of the room before the other two could protest, his footsteps fading down the hallway and leaving Riku and Orochi alone.

"…." As her hands were pushed away, Riku’s mouth opened, as if to insist on him saying—but of course, nothing came from her throat, not even as he trailed out of her room alone.

She looked up at Orochi then, surprised he didn’t go try and follow him, or say anything for that matter. He was stone-faced again, and even if he was going to look back at her, she quickly walking past him and going on as if she was fine again.

"—I guess I should call Kenken to go check up on him. You should follow him, just in case." She stated off-handedly, hurriedly shutting off her computer with shaking fingers. No way was she going to work on her phone any longer, she just wanted to go out on a walk, really.

Walks always helped this feeling fade away, especially if she didn’t want to rely on anyone else for comfort.

"....No," came Orochi's voice after a few long moments. He finally moved, bringing a hand up to run through his hair. "He doesn't need it. Once he's snapped out of it and done panicking, he just sleeps it off. It's probably best if he's left alone for now to recover."

The guitarist forced himself to move one foot in front of the other and sit gently on the edge of Riku's bed, as if expecting her to kick him out any minute. "..I fucked up. I know I did. But I just.. He had that look on his face, I--" Orochi's unreadable expression finally broke, turning into a mix of frustration and fear. "He only gets that look on his face and panics that hard when he's either trying or about to try killing himself, and I just--" His mouth snapped shut, realizing quickly that he probably shouldn't have said that. A heavy sigh followed. "..He'll be fine now that he's snapped out of it though. I've been through this enough times to know his routine."

Orochi stood up, his eyes falling on Riku. He feared this was the calm before the storm, her trying to stay composed while breaking underneath the surface.

..Ah, that's right. People don't go through this as often as he did.

A few steps is all it took to close the distance between them, his hand finding her shoulder once more and giving a reassuring squeeze. "..You don't have to play superwoman anymore, you know. You don't have to keep yourself composed for the sake of others when it's just the two of us."
