Korean ASMR

I personally love ASMR and I love learning Korean, so there’s nothing better than the two combined to improve my comprehension skills. You basically listen to Korean natives while relaxing and it’s awesome. So, here’s a list of some of my favorite Korean ASMRtists.

asmr/white noise video rec list

“what is asmr?”: a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, or cognitive stimuli.

asmr is also seen as and is becoming its own form of therapy, using stimuli like sounds and softly spoken words to help provide calm and relaxation to people who suffer with anything like insomnia, anxiety, depression, ptsd, and beyond. even if you don’t necessarily experience asmr as it’s described above, a lot of people find the repetitive sounds and encouraging words really helpful, especially with sleep.

asmr has become an essential part of my day lately, so i wanted to share some of my favorites, as well as some of my favorite white noise videos to be used for things like writing, drawing, studying, relaxation, sleep etc.

first of all, if you’re curious about asmr and not sure if you experience it/what your triggers might be, try some of these trigger test videos (most, if not all, asmr videos work best with headphones on):

trigger focused videos (these are just my personal triggers. don’t be afraid to be triggered by some really bizarre stuff. like lettuce. or a guy dressed as a plague doctor fondling a watermelon.)

positive affirmations/supportive friend

roleplay videos

white noise/ambience videos

of course, these are just my personal favorites so the list is quite repetitive and small, so if anything from this list jumped out at you please look into the asmr community on youtube. there is so much out there to help you if you need it. and if you need them, here is a list of hotlines.

“The Pencilsword” is a comic strip by Toby Morris, an illustrator from New Zealand. His most recent comic, “On a Plate” hits hard at the heart of the issues of concerning wealth and privilege.

How many times have you heard the “I’ve never been handed anything on a platter” argument in regard to social security and other social benefits?

Toby wrecks this argument by showing how two children can grow up, be loved and supported, and yet still have two very different outcomes.

Make sure to follow all the way to the end for the powerful punchline. This comic is an increasingly sad reality for far too many of this nation’s children and families.
