Vars achieves the gender euphoria he has always wanted, and with that magic he finds success. Unfortunately, with success comes unwanted attention.
Isn’t that always the way.

Sir Vars notices some important anatomical differences and experiments with his transformation magic.
Clearly he didn’t take his lecture to heart.
Sir Vars begins his life an unwanted infant raised within the walls of the Ministry.
Although he lacks any formal training, he learns he can change the shape of his body quickly and well; a type of magic that is strictly forbidden in Lemuria.
Page 1 of 2: Forbidden Knowledge
Illustrated by Al Lukehart https://twitter.com/al_lukehart A backstory short comic concerning the Bright One, and the reason the country of Lemuria is represented by the Dragon.
In the current time, the dragons are critically endangered, and are generally small and drab in color. Their last worshippers are mostly restricted to the most remote Northern parts of Lemuria.
Young Bregga receives her first assignment as a knight, which is to travel across the sea and be posted at the Less-than-desirable position of Sandhill Outpost in the foreign land of Kumari Kadam.
Her parents see her off, less than excited, as always, to see their child venture into dangerous lands.
Bregga resolves to fight her illness, and graduates to a full-fledged Holy Knight.
Her parents watch her graduation, even if they would have rather she stayed at home.
Bregga suffers from fever alone, until an old friend comes to visit and raises up her spirits.
