Out trick-or-treat trading card game has officially begun!

Collect and trade with other participants and the first player to submit a picture to the RC blog proving you have completed the collection will win a prize.

Additionally, there are 2 special cards, one available at two random blogs on the list that will automatically grant a prize, just submit a picture of the special card to the RC blog. Special cards will be marked with a star instead of a number.

There are a total of 3 winning spots available and we will be announcing when one has been taken. If you would like to claim your prize, you must be comfortable providing your address so that we can ship to you.

The Restructural Committee is holding our first ever trick-or-treat themed trading card game on the day of Halloween! Each card will feature brand-new No. 6 fan art created by the wonderful artists who volunteered to participate. Players who collect these cards will get to be the first ones to see all the new artwork and potentially win a No. 6 Halloween themed prize.

This event will take place October 31st and will run from 10 am – 9pm PST / 1 pm – 12 am EST

How to play:

Anyone with a tumblr account is free to participate as this is a tumblr exclusive event!

At the start of the event we will post the list of blogs that will be hosting each deck of trading cards. Once the list is revealed, you may start collecting and trading with other players. Simply go to each blog and say “Trick or Treat” in their ask box while being sure to remain OFF anonymous. The blog will answer back privately with a random card from the deck.

There is a chance for a total of 5 event winners but it’s possible that not all five spots will be taken due to random luck of drawing the cards.

Potential winners are only eligible for one prize per person, so having both a complete set and a special card remains only good for one prize and receiving more than one special card remains only good for one prize.

The prize for this event is intended to be a No. 6 Halloween themed glass pendant keychain but may be subject to change. Please allow up to a month for prizes to be prepared and sent out.

So this is basically the bare bones of the shape of water movie plot but with Nezumi and Shion as the main characters. This is just the first chapter, there will be at least four altogether. Characters might be OOC. It’s going to be different from both the movie and the anime, and as this is my first time writing anything, might just be straight up terrible. Constructive criticism is welcome, anything overly negative will probably be ignored

From someone who’s survived MySpace, livejournal, deviantart, and fanfiction.nets’ content purges and bad policy updates, here’s some advice on how to get through tumblr’s recent bullshit:

- don’t knee jerk delete. I know it’s tempting to peace out immediately but hang on and do the other steps first. Out right ghosting and erasing everything is how fandoms die.

- archive everything on your blog you want to keep

- tell your followers how they can archive and keep your work too. A lot of fic and art were only saved from ff.net and lj because other people saved it first. If you’re cool with other people saving your work for them to personally keep, let them know this. You can absolutely discourage reposting but I really do highly recommend you allow people to personally save fic and art they like and are worried will disappear forever. Digital Dark Ages are a real thing.

- tell people where you’re jumping ship to. Give links. Keep that info up, even if you’ve left the site.

- go through who you follow and find out where else you can follow them. Save their work if they’ll allow it. It’s tedious as hell but if you want to keep up with people on here clicking on their page to check in is the best way to do it.

- support places like ao3. This is exactly why ao3 asks for donations a few times a year. They are a 100% anti-purging, judgement free, ad free non profit run by an elected board and protected by lawyers. Places like ao3 literally save fandom so please continue to support them and other similar archives. This is exactly why ao3 is so important.

So...this is my first post in over a year, but this is so, so important guys.
