Obligatory Happy Birthday post.
I've been told the stories since I was two and my mom first became obsessed with the series. Then, when I turned eight, she handed me the book that she had read to me when I was younger. It was a little tattered at the edges from where she'd read through it a couple of times, but I was careful with it. I opened it, and all of the sudden, my eyes were immersed in the pages upon pages of magical bliss. Before I could reach page 200, I already felt like a part of the wizarding world, and I have been a part of it ever since.
Harry Potter, may it have started out as a mere children's series, is much more. It really is well written. The series progressed with age, which I think is appropriate as the character grows in age. The best part of it is that you get to grow with the character, or at least those of us who read it as they grew did.
So, on this day, I have to give a hardy Happy Birthday to Mr. Harry Potter, and the amazing women who created him and his whole world, J.K. Rowling.
Even though the end of the era is approaching quickly, us fans will never forget all the memories these books have brought us. We will for ever be a thriving, geeky community.
As silly as it sounds to most, the Harry Potter series has been a really good part of a lot of lives, and it will never truly end because of that.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE WHOLE WIZARDING WORLD!!!
(Also, Happy Birthday to Joey Richter. You're an amazing Ron Weasley, and a good actor in general Cx)
Also, I apologize to anyone who could give a shit less about HP. I know this is clogging up your dash, and I know it's cheesy and seems really stupid to most of you. I'll probably move it to my other blog later Cx
