It’s a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album. ✌️ I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours. 🤍 https://taylor.lnk.to/ttpd-theanthology
nope I need to black out
So what am I even supposed to check at 2am
let’s talk about it
This album is so quintessentially Taylor Swift and so much a culmination of her experience and talent and life that no one will ever come close to replicating it.
the way this is her most directly diaristic and autobigraphical album and yet also her most confusing...LET HER COOK!!!!!!!!
olijacobs12: @taylorswift TTPD!!! Love you Taylor Jack Laura. I can’t thank you guys enough for everything. The greatest team anyone could ever ask to be a part of. ❤️
Engineering (1-4,6-11,13,15,17) programming/spoken word (13) Best assistant Jack Manning at the incredible Electric Lady (x)
put narcotics into all of my songs and that’s why you’re still singing along
"This is a Joe Alwyn album" "This is a Matty Healy album" shut up shut up SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!! Swifties are so annoying, this is a TAYLOR SWIFT ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY IS YOUR FIRST REACTION TO ASSIGN THINGS TO A MAN!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!
starting the album with "i was a functioning alcoholic" was INSANE
TAYLOR SWIFT The Tortured Poets Department
Taylor Swift, "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart"
Sitting here with my headphones on but not playing anything because I cannot and will not listen to this album again right now I just NEED TIME!!!!!!! Also some shit is coming at 2am so I want to jump out the window but need to delay my suicide...
Also this album plays with humor in ways Taylor hasn't experimented with before and as with everything else she tries, she absolutely NAILS how to do it in a tasteful way.
I just think TTPD is not an album you can understand and fully digest in one listen or even a few listens and that's what makes it so great. It is accessible in terms of its melodies and high-level storytelling but the lyrical details are poetic and complex. I'm really just so excited to spend a lot of time with this album.
imagine if i could have one singular coherent thought about any of this
