If movies taught me anything, it was discipline.

Happy birthday to my idol. You’ve brought so much laughter to my life when I was down, and inspired me to always keep a fire in my belly about things I’m passionate about. The 19 year old you see in the picture had her hands shaking and her voice trembling because she was standing before a legend. But my hand was grabbed, and I was told “I’m so happy to see you too, sweetheart,” by the voice I had only heard through the television and my computer. It still feels like it was yesterday. Forever grateful that I was able to meet some pretty incredible people on this day, too. It’s amazing how our idols bring us together as a family. Thank you, Carol. For everything. Happy birthday, you magnificent human, you. ❤️ Gavin

RIP Carrie Fisher (21. October 1956 - 27. December 2016)

“I always wrote. I wrote from when I was 12. That was therapeutic for me in those days. I wrote things to get them out of feeling them, and onto paper. So writing in a way saved me, kept me company. I did the traditional thing with falling in love with words, reading books and underlining lines I liked and words I didn’t know.”

“Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.” Carrie Frances Fisher (October 21st, 1956 - ∞)
