I wonder if multilingual dnd characters work like multilingual people irl
Character 1: hey can you pass me the (demonic screeching)
Character 2: (visibly disturbed)
Character 1: (takes mundane object out of character 2s hands) sorry I forgot the word for it in common...

What has been happening with Stacy’s Father?

The three songs, Stacy's Mom (Fountains of Wayne), Stacy's Dad (anapantsu), and Stacy's Dad (Sub-Radio) tell the story of the strange ups and downs in the life of one person: Stacy's father.

Fountains of Wayne - Stacy's Mom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZLfasMPOU4 (cw: blatant horniness and almost-nudity, just in case.)

In the original song, we learn that approximately 12-14 year old Stacy's father has walked out. If we are to assume that the music video is an accurate portrayal, it seems likely that Stacy's father "walked out" because her mother cheated on him. In the video, she certainly seems to be too familiar with her masseuse. Now, it is entirely possible that the imagery of the video is wholly in the imagination of Stacy's preteen/teen boyfriend, but I think that "since your dad walked out" is still a lyric rooted in fact.

Based on the art provided with the video, I feel like Stacy and her friend (this one is a girl, I imagine she dumped her boyfriend over his obsession with her mother) are in their mid-late teens. Perhaps visiting her father (summer visitation as part of a custody agreement?). Here, we see the father as a bachelor, trying to work things out with himself. He's single and seems to be fine with that, but Stacy's friend wants to change that.

Now, we reach the critical assumption of my hypothesis: Stacy's father is gay. He comes out and gets with someone whose identity at the time is that of a man who is interested in other men. They become close, partners at least, if not married. During this time, Stacy considers her father's new spouse as her second parent. I expect that her relationship with her biological mother has deteriorated and is not presently reparable.

This song includes the line "since your mom came out, your dad could use a guy like me." Carrying on from my earlier hypothesis, I think Stacy's Father's partner discovered herself and came out as a woman. The song doesn't seem to imply the same level of hostility as the original song (her father walked out there), so my supposition is that her father and her - let's say adoptive - other parent, who is now her mother are still close, but no longer romantically involved because her Father is gay.

This is supported by the line "Stacy can't you see it's Mr. Stacy's Mom for me." They are still together in come sense, even if not romantic. This is why Stacy's seemingly-college or post-college boyfriend thinks her dad might be interested, but still calls him "Mr. Stacy's Mom."

I choose to believe that the end of this song sees Stacy's adoptive mother enjoying her transition - perhaps getting advice on girl stuff from her adoptive daughter; Stacy remaining close to both her biological father and adoptive mother; and Stacy's present boyfriend.. well, I don't know. It seems that they're both responsible adults here. Perhaps they get together. Perhaps not. The point is, no one is being harmed in this song - though Stacy herself might be disappointed or hurt if her boyfriend leaves her for her father. Still. Stranger things have happened.

The other takeaway from this trilogy is that Stacy should consider learning how to make better friends with people who aren’t interested in romance with people 20+ years their seniors.

if you follow me and I don't follow you back immediately... please don't take it personally... I'm quite skittish like a wild horse. but one day I might approach you and tentatively eat apple slices out of your hand, changing the trajectory of our lives forever

Clearly @xenianth needs to see this.

A real thing that happened to me as a teenager.

I had what turned out to be a dangerous walking pneumonia, for a week, but the manager at Burger King wouldn’t let me off.  My breathing was very loud and ragged.  I was coughing on and breathing on the food.

I wasn’t allowed to leave.  I was told if i called out, I was fired.

So Im shuffling around wheezing loudly swaying with my high fever as I work drive thru by myself, and a paramedic walked in to order dinner.

He goes ballistic, My friends.  He demands to see the Manager.  he chews him out at the top of his lungs so the whole restaurant can here.  Guys working the back came up to watch.  Customers staring and thinking hard about the infectious food they were eating.  Dude losing his shit about how infectious I was and all the people management had been endangering for days judging from my breathing and I needed to be home on antibiotics RIGHT NOW and the health Department was going to hear about this.

I went home.  i got the week off.  Didn’t even need a doctor’s note.

Getting friends management doesn’t know to do this WOULD WORK.

Same manager not letting me take my influenza home a year later  despite repeated vomiting?  Threw up in front of customers.  Customers demanded money back and started threatening the manager with lawsuits.

I got to go home and got time off until I stopped vomitting.

GO AHEAD and THROW UP in front of Customers.  THEY will Complain.

Don’t be shy.

They are supposed to let you stay home when you are sick.  Stop protecting management. (Hiding how sick you are protects management).  They are abusing you.  Let them reap what they sow.

#570.5 - Zorua are timid, but playful Pokemon who live in closely-knit packs with other Zorua and Zoroark. To avoid danger and conflict, they use their illusionary abilities to trick other Pokemon and people, which helps them better develop their transformative powers. As the small tuff of hair on Zorua’s head grows into a long mane, they pull it back with a bangle passed down from elders in their pack. They will transition to walking on two legs as their hind legs develop strong muscles. With age and practice, Zorlusion will expand their powers of illusion to objects other than themselves, conjuring terrifying apparitions to keep their den and pack safe.

#570.5H - Exiled from other lands by humans because of their illusions, and unable to survive in the Hisui region due to the harsh environment and conflicts with other Pokémon, the souls of deceased Zorua linger on in a new form, reborn by their malice towards humans and Pokémon alike. Hisuian Zorua retain their ability to cast illusions, but accomplish this by constantly unleashing their spiteful power of malice through their ghostly fur. As Hisuian Zorua grow, so does their spite and resentment, destabilizing and corrupting their physical form. Heedless of their own safety, maturing Hisuian Zorlusion attack their nemeses with a bitter energy so intense that it lacerates their own body, creating permanent welts. They have compassion only for those they consider close or like family.

Named: Zorua - Zorlusion - Zoroark

#885.5 - Dreepy are reborn ghosts of a prehistoric species that once lived in ancient seas. They tend to wander the locations where they once lived after they are reborn. Dreepy take a long time to reach maturity, and are exceptionally weak in combat - so much that on their own, a mere child could defeat them; however, they have the potential to become much stronger and evolve if they have friends to help them train. Dreepy can often be seen fighting alongside their evolutionary relatives Drakloak and Dragapult. The latter even launches Dreepy at Mach speeds, which toughens the Dreepy up and helps them grow; also, it’s fun! As Dreepy age and near maturity, they will “adopt” a younger Dreepy, whom they care of and fight alongside with until the Dreepy nears its own maturity.

#886.5 - Drakloak are extremely aerodynamic, and are capable of flying at speeds greater than 120 mph. After years of being a weak Dreepy, Drakloak have developed a strong nurturing instinct towards weaker beings, and will take a Dreepy under their wing to raise and train. If they get separated from their Dreepy, or their Dreepy gets old enough to move out on their own, Drakloak will become uneasy and desperately try to find any Pokémon to serve as a substitute to take care of. As they age themselves, Drakloak develop shelter-like structures in their horns, which they use to both house and fire out more Dreepy. Dreepy will flock to these Drakloak, looking for battle experience and the thrill of being fired like supersonic missiles.

Named: Dreepy - Dreerie - Drakloak - Drakarrier - Dragapult
