When your entire adolescence is focused on both how to use your Kryptonian powers and how to not reveal to anyone that you have them, there’s not much spare time for actual studying, deep thought, or existential crises.

Not that she’s having an existential crisis, or any sort of crisis. Just a few questions.

Questions like whether her insides match any of the diagrams in these books, or whether her blood is any different from a human’s (and if it’s blood at all), or whether her body needs the same nutrition that Alex’s does.

(She spends the rest of the night thinking about hunger and fullness and every single joke someone’s made about her eating habits.

She skips dinner.)

stuck in my sheets (make me believe)

Theo comes back after her fight with Nellie. 1,600 words. Spoilers through 1x05.

“So.” Theo takes another sip and holds out the bottle. “You ready to talk about it?”

Nellie’s lungs heave and sputter, and the hand that doesn’t reach for the drink clutches a corner of blanket in a death-grip. “What if I—what if I c-can’t?” she manages, her question nearly drowning in the sloppy sip she takes. (Theo has to bite back a smile at the single dribble of whiskey that escapes out of the corner of Nellie’s mouth.) “What if I literally fucking can’t.”

Theo arranges herself to be cross-legged, facing Nellie. “First, you take another drink,” she says, and waits for her sister to obey. “Then…” Deep breath. “...You take my hands.” She pulls off her gloves finger by finger, vaguely enjoying how the action seems to mesmerize Nellie, then holds out her hands in front of her.

“No, I—” Nellie chokes out, shaking her head. “What I did—I-I shouldn’t have…”

“You’re right,” Theo agrees matter-of-factly, “that was fucked up. Don’t ever touch me without my permission again.” Now she uses her fingertips to brush a few locks of hair behind Nellie’s ears, carefully avoiding direct skin contact, then ghosts a path from Nellie’s shoulders to her elbows, then lays her hands flat on Nellie’s clothed knees. “I’ve got your back, Nell. And I want you to show me everything.”

the movie I would’ve written.

An alternate version of Sierra Burgess Is a Loser where the first half unfolds exactly the same way, but with a slower and steadier build instead of that insta-friendship sequence. The FaceTime goes as planned. They celebrate their victory.

The next time Jamey calls while Veronica is there, Sierra talks to him for an hour and a half. Veronica watches, listens, laughs in sync with Jamey at all of Veronica’s jokes.

There may be a phone at Sierra’s ear, but her eyes are on Veronica.

Jamey calls while Veronica is venting about her friends. She tells Sierra to answer it, because she knows Jamey makes Sierra happy. Sierra tells Jamey tonight’s not a good night, and he tells her no problem, and Veronica tells her she didn’t have to do that.

Sierra starts to text Veronica more than she texts Jamey, and her smiles are bigger, too.

Veronica takes more selfies with Sierra’s phone for Sierra to send to Jamey. Sierra sends one and memorizes all the others.

Jamey calls when Veronica is asleep on Sierra’s shoulder after a long study session. Sierra lets it go to voicemail and tries not to laugh at Veronica’s quiet snoring.

She sings Veronica a lullaby.

Sierra walks out of the building just in time to see Jamey kiss Veronica, and Veronica sees her standing there frozen and heartbroken before running off. Veronica finds Sierra crying in the bathroom.

“I don’t care about him,” Veronica says. “I care about you.”

They decide to come clean to Jamey, but Veronica’s friends overhear and decide to do it for them. They hack Veronica’s instagram and post screenshots that humiliate Veronica and Sierra.

Veronica deletes her instagram and holds Sierra all night while she cries.

On Homecoming night, Jamey still picks up Sierra. He wants to understand what happened, wants to give her the chance to be herself, to start over. She tells him everything, apologizes profusely, then asks if they can make another stop.

They go to Veronica’s house.

Sierra, Veronica, and Jamey arrive together, but only Sierra and Veronica walk with their arms linked. Veronica’s friends all side-eye her and whisper cruel things. Sierra ignores them and keeps walking, but Veronica pulls her back and kisses her in front of everyone.

a beautiful monstrosity (killing eve)

The thing about Niko is, he wants Eve to be safe.

The thing about Oksana is, she wants to not kill Eve.

The thing about Eve is, she cares significantly more about one of those things than the other.

Or: Eve Polastri conducts a totally objective self-analysis, and Oksana Astankova has her questioning everything. Literally. Sort of.

so nothing’s left untouched (wynonna/rosita)

“So let me get this straight. Dolls is dead, not Doc, and you’re under the impression that I’m not really here?”

“Purgatory, am I right?” Wynonna deadpans with a shrug, but finds Rosita glancing at Peacemaker, and the drunken warmth swirling around her body comes to a screeching halt.

Rosita sighs and crosses her arms over her chest. “Well this blows.”

@biflseries is in its final week of crowdfunding, and I have some feelings for you.

I started writing this script years ago, without so much as an inkling of what I’d do with it once I finished. My only goal was to get the story out of my head so that once I knew what the damn thing was, I’d have a better idea of how to pitch it to the world. But joke’s on me, because BIFL has always been the most fluid motherf*cker, which I’m endlessly grateful for.

I’ve always said I’d never want to be the sole human in a writer’s room, because I can’t possibly expect myself to know about or understand every experience in a script. I’m a white cis bi (ace??) female with a mostly mild form of general anxiety, and I’ve had some real intense unrequited crushes, and I’ve made mistakes I’m not proud of; but that stuff’s only a small slice of what goes on in these episodes. And because of this, there are so, SO many friends’ fingerprints on this project. Queer fingerprints, trans fingerprints, anxious and depressed fingerprints… all combining and overlapping to create narratives as authentic and human as possible.

BIFL wasn’t written by a team of straight cis white men, or for fame, ratings, or money. BIFL was written by me, a member of the LGBT community, because I couldn’t not. Because I was sick and tired of having to trust others to tell the stories we need and deserve.

Our campaign ends Friday, and as of writing this we’re $2,130 away from being greenlit and $12,130 away from our full goal. Those aren’t small amounts, but we’ve gotten this far ($37,870) from 474 supporters–about $80/person. I’m asking from the bottom of my tired queer heart for you to go to BIFLtheseries.com, check out the trailer, look through our perks, and to please make a donation if you’re at all able. For the LGBT characters unfairly lost, and for those who need positive representation on their screen.

If you’re into #Sanvers, #Supercorp, #Wayhaught, #SwanQueen, #Hollstein, #Kadena, #Avalance, #Clexa, #AgentReign… BIFL is for you, and it has canon LGBT ships, and no one’s getting killed off for the sake of a plot twist.

This is your chance to tangibly, directly support queer media. Please consider pledging what you can, and if you can’t, please send the link to your friends and family, to anyone who might be able to help us crush this final week.

Make a difference by helping us make something different.

Looks like they’re green lit now, but I’m going to keep reblogging this.  Let’s get them to 100% funded.  Please reblog and follow this.

Yes, please keep spreading the word! At 80% we officially keep the funds, which is INCREDIBLE, but our full budget is $50,000 for a reason and we still have $7,344 to go with TWO DAYS LEFT.

This series is my love letter to femslash fandom, and I really think you’re gonna want to be a part of it.

Today, less than NINE (9) DAYS after we launched our crowdfunding campaign, we hit the $20,000 mark.

More than 200 pledgers helped us get to this amazing milestone with donations big and small, but we also couldn’t have gotten here without so many people sharing our project, our story, via social media and word of mouth.

As incredible as our progress has been, though, we still have more than half our goal left to raise–$50,000–and that’s where you come in.

If you’re part of the LGBTQIA+ community: the person behind this script is one of you. She’s a femslash fic author; she’s watched, loved, and been disappointed by the same shows you have; she was devastated by Lexa’s death and used that pain as motivation to put together a funny, dramatic, inclusive, and 100% death-free series where everyone can feel safe to fall in love with the characters as they stumble and grow.

If you’re an ally: supporting queer-made media is one of the most important steps you can take for us. Positive visibility, and more of it, is critical for our community, and pledging to or sharing this campaign with the people around you is an easy and tangible way you can help.

Please don’t scroll past this post. Take three minutes and 20 seconds to hear what we have to say, and if you can’t spare any cash right now, please follow and share the campaign page.

Support minority creators. Right here, right now, however you’re able.

Are you ready for a series with multiple LGBTQ characters who all have nuanced storylines and don’t die at the end? Are you ready to be able to directly support a series made by, for, and about queer people? Are you ready to help fund six episodes’ worth of angst, snark, and gay?

Then you’re ready for BIFL.

BIFL is an LGBTQ comedy about expectations, different shades of intimacy, and what it really means to love someone; about blood family versus found family and how toxic relationships can both manifest and disguise themselves; and about a group of twenty-somethings trying their best. But most of all, it’s about me, and you, and all of us, and we think you’re really gonna dig it.

Head to our campaign page to check out the pitch-video-slash-trailer and learn more about the story and characters, and please consider donating in exchange for one (or several!) of our fantastic perks. The funds will go directly toward the production of this series, and you’ll forever have the satisfaction of knowing you helped make something awesome!

If you’re unable to do so but still want to support the project, you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay updated on our progress.

Friends! Friends.

We’re on Day 3 of the campaign and we’ve already raised 30% of our $50,000 goal–currently $16,651 from 182 backers who are dedicated to helping us get this quality LGBT content in front of your faces.

That momentum is INCREDIBLE, and we need it continue every single day. Here are some really simple, easy steps you can take to help us move forward:

  • Pledge to the campaign. If you can spare $10, $20, $30, $50, or even higher, please consider supporting us financially.
  • Follow the campaign page. Seed & Spark rewards us with various filmmaking tools when we hit certain follower counts, and one (free!) click can help us out.
  • Share the campaign. Head to our Facebook page to literally share the pinned post, or text/tweet/email/snapchat/tumblr-post the campaign link to your friends, your family, and your followers.

Please don’t scroll past this post. Reblog it every time you see it, read through each of these ways you can significantly help us out, and remember that this is a project written by a queer person, being produced by queer people and some phenomenal allies, for the queer community.

BIFL is about more than just surviving.

It’s time, Internet.

We’ve been preparing the campaign for months, and will officially begin crowdfunding season one of BIFL: The Series this Tuesday, June 19th.

Our goal is $50,000, and we already have some incredibly giving donors lined up, but we’re still going to need your help to get there. Donate some cash if you can; share our page far and wide on social media if you can’t.

Check back here on Tuesday for the goods, and in the meantime you can follow BIFL on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

XO, BIFL

tfw you sat on a script for years because you knew you had to write it but didn’t know what to do with it and now you’re days away from a crowdfunding campaign that will get your quality gay shit made

Hey, tumblr. It’s been a hot second.

I come to you today because I need your help with something that’s both important to me and very relevant to you: I wrote a queer rom-com web series script that’s being produced this summer, but for now, we’re prepping for our crowdfunding campaign by trying to bring as many people to our Facebook and twitter pages as possible.

If you use either or both of these sites and don’t mind taking a few minutes out of your weekend, it would REALLY help us if you could Like/follow the page and invite your friends to do so as well. I know it’s kind of weird to hype a project that’s only in the development stage, but I promise this is a series you’re going to care about, and spreading the word now will do us a world of good once our campaign launches.

BIFL is diverse, funny, and heartfelt. It was my safe space through depression and anxiety and loneliness. It was written by a queer fangirl (me) who’s watched your shows, shipped your ships, and experienced each and every Bury-Your-Gay heartbreak right alongside you.

In this series, you are completely safe and fiercely represented.

XOXO BIFL
