My cat is all fucked up, y’all. I just got him home from the Vet and it was THREE teeth lost, not just one, and a whole row of stitches along his bottom jaw to save the teeth that were loose there. Looks like he either fell from a very tall thing or was hit by a slow car. Oh and he has roundworms, so that’s great. But at least Nacho is spayed!
I know discourse is the word of choice in fandom nowadays but I kind of wish we would have stuck with “fandom wank” because it carries the implication that the anger involved culminated into effectively nothing and that the act was wholeheartedly masturbatory in nature rather than for any greater cause.

I have always adored this painting. Having the central female figure stare with awareness at her viewer is a very powerful move, and something not often given to women in paintings. It creates an engagement with the viewer, she sees you and she knows you are watching her. She is no longer an object in an image, she is a person.
