“Come now, coming all this way to state how you feel but not desiring to aide~? My, how rude.”

"This little 'visit' is an incidental part of my work." And the only thing that served to prove was how demented this Arrancar was. There was something jagged and within the seemingly straight lines that showed in everything he did. This man was very like the Captain in his eccentricities (madness), but far more apt at hiding that aspect within a gloss. This made him particularly unpredictable. Dangerous. "Speaking of which, I need to return to."

Self-preservation was an awfully loud instinct, and yet, scientific curiosity prodded.

☣ —— “Shinigami, Quincy, you all travel in packs. How absolutely primal.”

Primal.

"Ironic for an Arrancar to say. But then again, your kind prefer to perform on your own means, correct?" His insult wove a bit more difficult to determine within that question that begged information.

Reclusive troglodyte.

A bit plucky for the scientist to declare before the terms of this discussion had been completely definitive, but that sardonic tone brought about his own well-used set despite cautiousness. Perhaps this lack of nerves could be blamed for the more frequent exposure to said beings.

She should have known better than to ask a question like that in a situation that was bound to be stressful. Suzume lowered her eyes from the other shinigami’s and muttered a quiet but sincere, “I’m sorry.”

"I shouldn’t have asked you that. It was really stupid and insensitive of me." She bowed her head apologetically. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Great. Now he felt bad. But in having been no stranger to the likes of Rin, he had no inclination to apologize for that.

"I'm afraid it would take longer to train you in this protocol then to just do it myself." There was heavy appreciation within his exhausted response. He needed to get back, though there was no wanting to. This would be no fun task to continue.
