She was in a good mood. Not something that was unheard of but Mae was still getting used to good days finally outweighing the bad. So when the new girl walked inside, she grinned.
Ariel smiled at the friendly face. She'd been wandering around, as per usual, and walked inside out of curiosity. "'ello there! Erm, would you...would you mind telling me where I am?"

Hey guys. I'm so sorry I haven't been on. School has been kicking my butt. Finals week is almost over. I'll be so active during Christmas break that you all are going to get sick of me, that's for sure!
Anyways, I'll reply to some things (very very late replies, sorry again) and make starters whenever I can until break starts.

A Friendly Face || Claire + Ariel
She needed to make more friends; she knew this. Yeah, she was nice, but she could be nicer. Even now, years later, those words from Zach echoed in her mind.
But it wasn’t even that she was mean, it was more like she was… closed off. Claire put up walls. She didn’t always go out of her way to come out from behind them, anymore.
Claire regretted it, more than she let on. Maybe that’s why she was out there that day, hands in the pockets of her wool coat, eyes scanning the crowd for a friendly face.
The red hair caught her eye, and she found her gaze drawn toward the head to which it belonged. It was a young woman, flipping through the pages of a magazine. They were perhaps around the same age, give or take. Then again, it was hard to judge since the blonde didn’t age.
She moved toward the newsstand, weaving in and out of the sea of people on the sidewalk, and cleared her throat. Words were hard, but there was always one sure way to greet someone, wasn’t there?
"Hello."
Ariel looked up at the sudden voice, smiling at the girl from the 25 Good First Date Questions and Conversation Starters page of the magazine she'd been preoccupied with.
"Why hello there!"
She greeted her right back, the genuine grin never leaving her face. Usually, Ariel was the one who started conversations with complete strangers in hopes to make new friends, so when the opposite happened, she couldn't help but look and feel happy.
"How do you do, miss? I'm Ariel! Who might you be?"
