I was not able to light on any map or work giving the exact locality of the Castle Dracula, as there are no maps of this country as yet to compare with our own Ordnance Survey maps; but I found that Bistritz, the post town named by Count Dracula, is a fairly well-known place. I shall enter here some of my notes, as they may refresh my memory when I talk over my travels with Mina.
Interesting detail that I didn't notice last year. Jonathan doesn't have the actual location to Castle Dracula despite this being a complete paid work related travel for a noble, and rich client.
At first it doesn't look like it would be too much of a problem, but remember that this is in a time where communication tecnology was paper, and schedule bound. Even if the location of Bistritz was given, that is still not the actual location of Castle Dracula, the place where Jonathan is supposed to to work at.
What means that the crucial information of "where does the client lives" was not given to Jonathan despite this job being remarked to be important... Now, whenever that was a simple mistake, or actually intentional is something that the text itself doesn't answer.
I'm doing Dracula Daily for the first time this year after watching excitedly in previous years and I would like to share my recipe for chicken hendl/paprikash, somewhat based on my (slovak) grandmother-in-law's recipe. And for a slow cooker and a big batch.
The best part of this recipe, for me, is the memory of my mom copying it down for another family member and stopping to say "Excuse me does this say a quarter CUP of paprika??"

What's Dracula daily?
Dracula Daily became Tumblr's favorite book club during the pandemic. If you're unfamiliar with how the original novel is structured, it is an epistolary novel, meaning it's made up of documents, letters, diary entries, and telegrams all of which have a date on them.
Dracula Daily takes those dates and sends out the passages from the book on the dates they happen. So some days, you'll get a lovely email from your good friend Johnathan Harker about the hearty chicken dish he's enjoying on his travels, and the next email might be from Mina detailing a letter from her good friend Lucy and all her would-be suitors vying for her and in marriage.
It's a fun way to digest the novel.
There's also the podcast version hosted by @re-dracula, which is a real blast. You haven't lived until you've heard a vampire getting hit in the head with a shovel, complete with sound effects.
Y'ALL FUN FACT: rewatching the show over & over again from the same account apparently lowers the rating that's counted. for ex. the first gives .100, second will give it 0.75 then down w the third- BASICALLY THE POINT IS THAT ONLY REWATCHING IT ALONE WON'T HELP. TALK ABOUT THE SHOW, POST ABOUT IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA & RECOMMEND IT TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN.
ALSO, WATCH EACH EPISODE FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE V END WITHOUT SKIPPING ANYTHING. THE VIEWS GLITCH IF YOU DO THAT.
p.s. i've been watching a lot of interviews lately man & the way i had cried watching that last episode, tells me that i want these actors AND characters to succeed & be happy. so, please everyone, let's watch the show & earn our boys a second freaking season!!!
