Plain and Fancy...Bookplates

A bookplate is a small print or decorative label pasted into a book to designate ownership.

Bookplates range from simple nameplates...

to elaborate personal expressions!

“Metuenda Corolla Draconis”(The dragon’s crest is to be feared) is the armorial motto of The Marquess of Londoderry.

Cinderella

Produced by McLoughlin Brothers in 1891, Cinderella is two books in one!  It tells the story of Cinderella in a format that depicts the theater experience. Its pages are bound on both sides of the book and cut down the center. When opened, the half pages that are turned back illustrate the stages’ boxed seating complete with audience.*

University of Delaware’s Fighting Blue Hens Football team will host their final game of the season this Saturday, November 11th.

Hopefully the fans will be lined up just as they were in 1914 when the “Blue and Old Gold” took on the Carlisle Indian Reserves and won 33-0.
