Father and son have the most precious conversation about paris attacks (le petit journal)
This man helped his three year old son feel safe in the most beautiful way.
I could cry his smile at the end, mi Heart
if a marginalized group tells you that a word or phrase is harmful/toxic towards them and they wish you’d stop using it, it’s not an opportunity for you to flex your fucking debate skills
me: I LOVE THE X FILES!!!!! also me: *bursts into manic laughter at least twice every episode, makes fun of everything the characters are wearing, drags david duchovny constantly, doesn’t know basic seasonal arcs*
I wanna go hiking w Shia LaBeouf I feel like he would listen to all my problems and tell me everything is going to be okay and then throw a rock at me
There is an entire song about why it’s a bad idea to go into the woods with shia labeouf
The citizens of South Korea are currently being oppressed with brute force by the government, Please reblog and help spread the word and bring awareness to the current situation
The recap:
Korea’s current PM, Park Geun hye has proposed to make complete alterations to the nation-wide textbook, consiting of heavily biased views about past events in order to manipulate and warp both history and it’s citizens. The new textbook condemns the Korean independence movement as well as glazing over the dictatorship of her father, erasing the history of thousands who were abused over his dictatoship.
A group of protestors, consisting mainly of uni and young high school students has decided to gather at Gwanghwamun for a PEACEFUL PROTEST (met all regulations, has been reported/notified to the police PRIOR the protest) when all areas leading to the area was cut off by police.
They have since fired WATERCANNONS (WATCH VIDEO) laced with capsaicin/tear gas (X) and oil, blasting at random at protestors AS WELL as ambulances and other volunteers trying to give first aid. A man has been blased in the face and is in critical condition while many others are injured or currently are being brutally mishandled by police. The tear gas used by the government has been notified to consist dangerous levels of capsaicin and 465.75 LITRES has already been spent already in close proximity of the protestors in just few hours. (Korea is also undergoing the worst drought in 40 years. Yay) BUT MOST OF ALL, THE GOVERNMENT IS HEAVILY CENSORING ALL THIS. They have censored the most popular website naver.com, erased all of the news headlines and refused to broadcast the current situation in all national TV news channels. We have no way of communicating without the censorship of the Government without depending on SNS.
(tag used by Koreans)
Yesterday 43 people in Beirut were killed by extremists. One of the targets was going to be a Shiite mosque. Today Paris is going through a series of terrorist attacks. As usual people are blaming all Muslims for the attack in France. But let me be clear, groups like ISIS kill ANYONE who doesn’t follow their rules. They kill innocents. Muslims and non-Muslims alike. And I hate that we have to bring this up every time there is an attack. It takes away from the victims, but many times those victims are Muslim and they don’t deserve to be lumped in with ISIS. They are victims too. RIP to those that lost their lives in these attacks.
can Americans on tumblr please stop making posts criticising people for being shocked and upset by the horrific attacks in Paris because they’re not caveating everything with “but of course other bad things are happening in the world too”
for many of us in the UK and Europe, these attacks hit incredibly close to home; i live in London, Paris is not far away. I have friends in Paris, and my family live in Vienna - in the Jewish district (and my mother is, in terms of heritage if not religion, Jewish)
I’m scared. Many European cities are now on high alert, including London. Please stop trying to score cheap social justice points by telling people they ought to also be outraged and sad at other things; we are, but this is more immediate and terrifying on a personal level. also you can care about more than one tragedy at once.
This Starbucks red cup thing is so funny to me because
omg
I think I’m not the only one feeling this weird trapped feeling today, feeling sick and overwhelmed but unable to stop reading, reblogging. Trying to understand when there is nothing to understand.
I live in the middle of it. 19 people died in front of the bar I go drinking twice a week, and my friend the barmaid was hidden behind the bar for two hours. One of my best friend lives rue Bichat and heard the gunfire from his window. I know a family trapped in stade de France. I should have been drinking in Republique at 8PM yesterday, where they started shooting.
Yeah I get it. We are freaking out.
But please, stop spreading only the bad stuff. Stop the pictures and videos of bodies in the street, of yelling and blood. Stop talking about refugee’s hate, and islamophobia.
Talk more about the people that yelled in the street the number of the code to their flat when victims where running everywhere to bring them to safety. The man that opened the window of his flat to victims of the Bataclan stranded on the roof.
Talk about the man that went back to help a stranger pregnant woman, and the kid that was carried to safety by a total stranger worried he could be trampled by the crowd.
Talk about the social media, the hashtag #porteouverte to get people out of the street and #voyageavecmoi to help people afraid to travel alone because of their religion/skin color.
Talk about the taxis that stayed in the street, bringing people home for free all night, and the bus drivers that helped evacuate the Bataclan.
The people crowding the blood centers, so much that Paris now has to send them back home.
The people in their home, terrified and in shock, and only waiting for the possibility to crowd the street and show them that we are afraid but not broken, and together.
There are handfuls of people that will take out of this tragedy all the bad lessons, the wrong evidences.
But please don’t talk about them. Talk about the fraternity and the love of the scared, scarred, ones in Paris. Because we are so many, and we won’t give up
i literally just saw someone suggest to make a roleplay based on tonights attacks in paris and i just? are people that insensitive? this is not entertainment?
i’m so scared for europe. first charlie hebdo, then the copenhagen shootings and now this. this is exactly what everyone feared.
as far as i’m aware, it’s still unclear who’s behind the attacks, but isis seems to be on everyones lips, and with good reason. however, please remember that isis isn’t islam. european muslims have enough to deal with as it is.
my thoughts go out to everyone affected by tonights attacks. please stay safe, stay brave and stay strong.
