Project for Awesome 2016 is going on right now! This is a huge online charity fundraiser and livestream. The livestream is going on right now and Animal Wonders Montana has their lovely little prehensile tail porcupine Kemosabe on the stream. Here is a watercolor painting I did of this guy, I contributed it to the art perk which is a fun perk that you can get in exchange for a $45 donation to the project right here! Hi there! I’m going to be keeping the coloring book pages for the book private so that is can be a surprise for those getting it- but you can expect both detailed and more simple pages. Its that time of year again... Project for Awesome is rapidly approaching! Project for Awesome is a wonderful, big online charity auction where youtubers and people of the internet come together to raise lots of money for good causes.
In exchange for donating to the campaign (when it goes live) you can get many awesome perks. One of the perks I contribute to every year and love creating for is the Nerdfighter Art Perk. You can get original art from people around the world via this perk. In the next few days leading up to and on the days of P4A I’ll be uploading art I created for this perk.
First up, puppy size elephant done in ink and watercolor!

This year for the Project for Awesome, a bunch of creative Tumblr people including myself are offering to do requests for art, writing, or songs in exchange for pledges to donate to the P4A. A few of us did this last year and it was a really popular idea! The people participating are listed below along with what types of requests they are taking.
To submit a request, send them a message like “I’ll donate $10 to the P4A if you draw a puppy-sized elephant eating pizza” with any amount of money and whatever you’re requesting. If they post what you requested, then you donate (I’ll update the donation link when donations open). I’ll be tagging my request posts with #P4A Requests and I encourage the other posters to do the same.

Meig, A Dinosaur A Day
Basically what I did last year and what I’ll do this year is that I’ll write articles about the animals of someone’s choosing. I keep ADAD to dinosaurs only (so descendants of the most recent common ancestor of Megalosaurus & Iguanodon, which includes birds); but for P4A I offer to do entries about any organism someone might choose - such as other extinct animals (pterosaurs, plesiosaurs, et cetera) or animals alive today which aren’t birds (like mammals, other reptiles, et cetera).

P4A 2016 Requests for Pledges
Last year during the days leading up to the Project for Awesome, I took drawing requests in exchange for donation pledges. People sent me asks saying things like “I’ll give this much money to the P4A if you draw this thing” and then I drew the thing and posted it, and hopefully the person donated the money they agreed to. It was really fun, but the amount of publicity I got for doing it led to me being overwhelmed with requests, while other blogs started doing the same thing and probably didn’t get as many. With the amount of excitement generated by this whole idea, I realized that I think as a community, we have the potential to raise a lot of money this way.
This year I want to make a post with a list of creative Tumblrs that would like to do requests for pledges, and then I want to get that post promoted as much as possible.
So, if you have a Tumblr where you post any kind of art (including stories, music, etc.) and you want to be listed on this post, send the following information to me by December 3rd, and I’ll publish the post the next day. If you have an ask box, I will link to it in the post.

- your name and/or the title of your blog
- a description of the kind of art you’re taking requests for (drawings, comics, fan fiction…). Include any conditions you have for requests (for example, if you’re only doing nerdfighter-themed art, or you’re only taking requests on certain days, or you don’t take anon requests) and anything else you want to include. Example: “I’ll be taking requests for Nerdfighter-themed drawings and short comics from now until Sunday.”

Some additional notes: You don’t have to do all of the requests you get. The idea is that people only donate IF you post the thing they wanted.
The official dates for the P4A are December 9-11. Usually the donation window extends a few days before and after the event.

Hello everyone, its that time of year again... Project for Awesome is fast approaching which means I need to get some art done for the nerdfighter art perk :) I usually always do some watercolor paintings, and then last year I added a craft too.
SO I need your help, I will probably have to start recycling themes this year, but I’d love to make some new stuff too. Please send me suggestions on things I could draw (or potentially craft) that are nerdfighteria related. I’d especially love ideas from this past year (ie pumpkins and penguins ect) but am open to all ideas.
