I got tired of reviewing, so I went out of the dorm to see Oble. He’s so fine, you guys.
“Mulat” 2017
The Oblation will be set amidst a representation of a giant eye and woven with colorful threads representing a diversity of visions and ways of seeing. “The eye watches over a playing field where outlines of children at play dot the Oblation plaza. The figures are both present and absent, their forms as visual metaphors of children who exist in memories, those who are no longer with us, young people caught in the crossfires of senseless ‘wars’ and conflict. Memories that glow amidst the darkness that reign over a land threatened by a culture of death and impunity. Their faint glow illuminates and inspires us to overcome the darkness and be sources of light ourselves.”
The work also represents the university “as an entity that watches over its people, serves as an oculus for critical thought and initiates movements that are game changers and promotes just actions that level the playing field against threats to our society and those who do not play fair.”

Pa-campus kuno
I miss UPLB!! Only spent less than a day there last year but it’s such a great place, I want to go back. Posted at 12 AM yes cramming.
the warring depth of red and blue calms the ongoing storm in my soul. and the softness of pink before delving into crimson nudges my heart to love and live some more. and this, this is the reason why i will never get tired of running after the setting sun.
Last week, a ComSci student raised a concern of having two major exams scheduled on the same day. This has been disturbing a lot of their batchmates. Social media has been flooded with posts describing how stressed and sleepless they have become with all the requirements they are dumped with.
The student asked if the profs have already exhausted all the possible means not to have those 2 exams be scheduled in one day. The prof answered, “Sinadya talaga namin yun.”
It was not surprising since the prof even made a pubmat for that day as if it was something exciting and worth celebrating. The student asked, “Bat nyo naman po sinadya yun?”. It drew a laughter from the crowd as if he was joking; but the student was sincere with his question.
The student was then answered with lines like, “diba nung high school kayo sabay-sabay mga exams nyo?”, “nung time nga namin apat na exam sa isang araw”, “para ma-train kayo; para pagdating sa industry, matatag na kayo” and other reasons I thought I would never hear in UP.
The students were only asking for compassion - that their welfare, which may have been overlooked in favor of “making them better”, be reconsidered. Their health - physical, mental and emotional - may have already been compromised and that is one thing we should look into.
Difficult exams and having them be scheduled in one day do not necessarily translate to better students. You know what’s makes good students? Good teaching style.
