Johanna was pleasantly surprised by the other woman’s kiss, and though uncomfortable with the weather, she reciprocated the gesture with little hesitation, smiling against her lips and letting out an approving hum in the process.
When with others, her natural instinct was to speak vulgar words, to immediately take the defensive stance. With Annie, however, she saw no need to do this. At the very least, she wasn’t entirely defensive around her, which was just as much important.
“–and I absolutely return the sentiment,” she replied, making the move to give Annie another kiss upon the corner of her lips. “just in case you’re the one getting nervous.” Of course, Johanna was clearly the more likely one to be that way. She supposed she’d just have to suck it up. She’d be fine, as long as there was no thunder, or lightning.
It was difficult for Annie to develop a relationship with someone, but with Jo, it had been easy. Getting to know each other may have... taken time... But the blonde would have it no other way-- it was just how it needed to be for them. With a lazy grin, the woman accepted the returned affections rather happily. If all she had to do to keep Johanna relaxed or distracted was give her kisses and make small talk ( or even simply staying near, ) Annie would gladly oblige-- they were all things she’d grown quite attached to. A soft roll of the eyes of the eyes was the main response to Jo’s words-- though, she did softly settle herself next to the brunette, moving to rest her head on the taller’s shoulder; head tilted to look up at the other.
