Important

Should probably take care of my accounts better but hey how’s it going.

I’ve lost my muse for Larry and I feel bad because there aren’t a lot of Larry’s for the NATM rp fandom. But I can’t help my muse was lost so badly. I’m still debating whether or not to just deactivate this account-- leaving it for memories but I feel like I may come back? I’m not entirely sure.

So I’m not 100% positive if I’m going to keep role-playing him or not. But I’ve met a bunch of wonderful people and thanks for the fun times ~ I’ll update if I come up with what I’m going to do but for now I guess I’m on an undefined hiatus.

If you want to role-play with me still I’m WAY more active over here: @jacktherippcr

"Really, it’s true. Obviously it wasn’t the only thing I wanted to be but I grew up pretty much across the street. I could see the lights from my room at night…" She trailed off as her enthusiasm drooped for a moment. "However, I also thought being a cab driver would be brilliant fun…"

Louise sighed softly and forced a smile. In truth, naming the jobs she didn’t want would take far less time than listing those she believed she would have enjoyed when she was a kid. Reality was always going to be bleaker. She raised an eyebrow but didn’t look at Larry as she answered him with a near complete, well rehearsed lie.

"I’m a student but since I’ve moved back here, I figured I could take some time off to settle. I suppose that saying I’m a slacker would be the best description right now." The girl smirked teasingly. "Are you hiring?"

"Ah ~ " He nodded, "I feel you on that hahaha yeah I remember school. That stuff can get rough after a while."

Larry took another sip; remembering school wasn't all bad. He enjoyed it for the most part though when college came around; he wasn't very keen on finishing it. But that was his problem-- but now that he thought about it. It doesn't effect him much anymore. Which is fine with him.

"The museum? Oh uh . . . I honestly don't know." He teased back a bit but laughed, "Ha ~ My boss is more the one who-- keeps up on the hires or firing and promotional things. I just guard stuff ~ "

Louise gave a shrug but nodded in agreement. “I can understand that. I think public transportation is something you can either tolerate or you can’t. I don’t mind some trains but here it’s certainly not a preference…” She drank the last of her beverage, discarding the empty cup and turning her attention back to Larry.

Her eyes widened when he mentioned the Museum of Natural History as his place of work and her lips curled into the broadest of smiles: it was a place of considerable childhood fondness for her. “Are you kidding? That’s incredible!" She buried her hands in her coat pockets and blushed at her own excitement. "That would have been my dream job when I was a kid."

Larry laughed lightly, "Huh-- really? Normally kids want to be like an astronaut or a baker or something."

He may have went to a his own son's school event for parents show and tell about their jobs-- but most kids didn't seem that interest in his job. Though he made his explanations exciting-- he doubted kids wanted to a night guard when they grew up. Now that he thought about it; it started out as a job to keep his apartment and so his ex-wife wouldn't have to tell Nick they'd have to move again. But it's probably become one of his favorrites.

"What do you do Louise?"

Louise listened intently but kept her gaze from resting on her company for too long. “Not a fan of the subway?” She smirked. “That’s something I missed… being able to walk almost everywhere important.”

She had another mouthful of coffee, glancing back to him. “So, do you work close to here?” She paused and stifled a laugh. “You can tell me if I’m being too nosy…”

Larry laughed as well-- "Quite alright! I don't mind the questions really." He took another sip of coffee, "Ah no I wasn't much fan of the subway-- a lot of people and to be honest; I missed it a lot in my time. As for my work-- it's actually not that far from here. I work at the American Museum of Natural History."

"Night Guard really. It doesn't sound exciting but they have me running the night tours there-- it's actually more fun than people think." He laughed again though a bit more lighter. He did indeed enjoy his work, and honestly; he wished he could tell everyone about what really went on. But only a few would believe him the first time.

“It’s a pleasure, Larry.” She released his hand and cringed slightly, hearing her own relaxed tone. It felt like an age since she spoken to someone in a casual manner but she was comfortable enough and found Mr. Daley disarmingly friendly. After spending the better part of a year on her own, it was a nice surprise.

Louise chewed her bottom lip as she considered his question and her answer. She shrugged and cleared her throat, seeing no reason to lie just yet. “I lived here until I was a teenager but I moved back a month or so ago.” She took a sip of her coffee and glanced over to him. “What about you?”

The guy smiled, and nodded to hear the other's answer. He didn't have to think about his answer though-- taking a sip of his coffee first though--

"Ah I grew up here in New York. Never really moved out of the city-- but of course I moved from district to district. I try to stay close to my work though. Walking is a bit easier than trying to hull a cab or driving on my own."

“Surely a scalding warrants a little bit of attitude. I’m getting off too light…” Louise smirked teasingly, subtly looking the man over as she tasted her coffee. He was familiar but, indeed, with over eight million faces, it was likely a coincidence.

The girl suppressed a shudder when she met the cold outdoors but he quickly regained her attention when he spoke again: her ‘vital’ plans suddenly seemed far less interesting by comparison. “Sounds good…” She smiled and reached out her free hand. “Louise Radev.”

Larry smiled again before taking the other's hand and giving it a light shake, "Larry Daley." He could definitely say he hasn't met any new people recently- in fact; quite along time but people in New York usually kept to themselves. There were far too many people to just stop and chat on the streets; cars zooming by and people rushing off to work or stores.

But he was a friendly guy of course. Awkward at times sure but that was just him. The two walked out of the shop and onto the sidewalk of the busy street s numerous people rushed passed. "Been in New York long, Louise?"

“I would feel much better if you let me buy you another or at least tutted at me and told me to watch where I’m going.” Louise relaxed and grinned at how mellow the man was, having expected an entirely different reaction: he was a pleasant surprise.

She gave an appreciative nod to the server as she retrieved her own coffee before turning her attention back and edging towards the exit. Still, her invasive curiosity had her hoping he was going her way. “You work nights around here? I’ve… well, I think I have seen you around…”

"No no it's quite alright ~ I didn't spill all of it hahaha ~" He joked again; his smile turning a bit wider. Though he noticed the girl might have somewhere to be but he himself was going to be heading out soon as well.

"Oh uh, maybe? There's a lot of people here in New York City. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe I just looked like someone else ha ~ " Larry took a sip of his coffee before letting his attention go toward the door, "Walk and talk perhaps?"

"Oh hey Jed … Um, well I wouldn’t say I’m an expert but, what- why?"

"It ain’t right, though!" Jed protested, blushing. "Two men tagether? It’s unorthodox, that’s fer sure! A sin, even!" He paused, frowning. "But considerin’ th’ fact that we’re plastic… There ain’t any heaven or hell fer us ta go ta."

"…Gigantor? D’ya think it would be good fer me ta finally tell ‘im how I feel?" Jed inquired, looking up at the night guard with a sad expression. "I’ve loved ‘im since we first came ta life all them years ago… But fought ta try’n hide it. Maybe it’s time ta stop hidin’."

"I'll be honest buddy. I really think you should tell Octavius how you feel. Trying to hide how you feel about someone isn't the way to go. Bottling it up won't solve anything- and I doubt you wanna do that."

Larry put on a bit of a serious face though; light. He sighed. If Jed really did like Octavius from a long time ago- must of been hard to keep it in this long.

"Go for it Jed. Everyone has to tell someone they like them sooner or later. I mean I had to ha ~ "

The girl’s amusement lasted until she looked at the man’s vaguely familiar face, her expression dropping further as she watched him wipe away the spilled coffee on his hand. She groaned inwardly, fighting her initial curious urge to physically examine his hand and instead retrieving a handful of napkins from the counter.

“Are you okay? Is it bad? Do you need ice?” She was sure she had seen him in the neighborhood and that was enough of a faux pas to have her mortified but her concern for the man’s well-being was surprisingly genuine. “I’m afraid sometimes my situational awareness isn’t too… uh, aware.”

The man shook his head with a small smile as he took some more napkins from the woman to wiped off his jacket a bit more. "It's fine don't worry about. It's just coffee ~ I've spilled coffee on my self plenty of times to be honest."

He joked around a bit to lighten the mood as he tossed the used napkins into a bin close by, "I'm kind of the same after work. Working nights messes with me a bit if I try to go out in the day ha ~"

It was early when Louise stepped out of her building. Unsurprisingly, it was still cold but it always seemed to take an embarrassingly long time to adjust after leaving the warmth of her apartment - she wasn’t willing to give herself the chance just yet.

She approached the coffee shop on the corner of her street, ordering ‘a big one, no cream, two sugars’ and wrapping her coat tighter around her as she waited by the counter. Her gaze fell on a couple feeding each other pie at a table in the corner and she turned away, freezing when she found herself face to chest with another customer. Stifling a laugh, the girl backed away. “Oh wow, sorry about that.”

A wonderful day in New York though it was always a bit cold, especially this time of year- it didn't stop Larry from going to get something like coffee to wake him up. Normally he'd make it right at home and relax but he felt the need to get out for the day; being cooped up in a museum all night and sleep all morning was boring after a while. Though he didn't lack sleep much. Which was good.

He was just handed his own coffee; a light and sweet, before he bumped into a girl as they bother turned. Luckily he only spilled a tiny bit on his jacket and not the whole thing- the coffee still being hot but he just smiled lightly and laughed gently, "No no it's alright, don't worry about it ~ " Larry took some of the napkins he had around his coffee and wiped off some of the coffee on his jacket and his hand- not a big deal.

Jed hung his head, grumbling. “Yeah… I am. I’m real came jealous. Th’ way he looked at that damn knight…” He grimaced, biting his lip. “He ain’t never looked at me like that. An’ I know we’re jus’ friends, but… I…” He gulped, dipping his hat lower over his face to hide his eyes. “I love him. I love him, Larry. An’ I don’t know what ta do.”

Image

"Oh Jed ~ "

He brought his small friend over to a near-by bench in the museum and sat down; setting Jed on the arm so they could talk. It seems like it'd be a bit of a long one but he was willing to give his best advice.

"You just got to have a bit of faith you know? Why don't you just tell Octavius about how you feel? You guys are really close and all."
