Hi, my name is Shay! I’m raising money so my girlfriend can afford to finish the semester and get home to New Hampshire with her family.
Lex, my girlfriend, lives in Georgia, and she needs to move home to New Hampshire for a number of reasons - school, family, and her failing health. She needs to have her gallbladder removed, because it (alongside depression and IBS) is causing severe pain that prevents her from getting a job and impedes on her quality of life.
What I’m hoping to do is raise is money for Lex to ship what she can of her stuff back home, and for food to get her through the rest of the semester. Because she’s a student, she didn’t qualify for food stamps, and she’s more or less down to her last dollar.
I do as much as I can for Lex, but I’m a college student too and I’m barely working enough for myself at the time, so I’m hoping to take advantage of crowdsourcing to find the money.
Here’s the breakdown:
$200 for groceries for the rest of the semester.
$250 for shipping her belongings.
$50 for medication.
Lex’s intestinal disorders require a careful diet or else it causes a flareup in her abdominal pain, so though the semester isn’t too much longer, healthy eating is key to keep her body in balance. Her medications similarly cost an arm and a leg, and though it’s hard to estimate a good shipping budget from where I am in Texas, I’m doing the best I can with the above estimate.
Please help Lex out - it would mean the world to me if anyone could donate a few dollars and help keep her afloat until her surgery.
