"It'd be worrying...if he didn't have something to say." He raised a hand to DISMISS the other male's concerns, seemingly missing the way Landon looks over his shoulder. "...It's okay, Landon. He's always...uh...teasing whenever I'm around. Not really something I'm...new to." Lips turned up in a somewhat SOMBER SMILE. Great, now Henry's turned the whole conversation into a sad mess -- and here they were supposed to have a fun day! "So uh..." Henry cleared his throat to change the subject. "What...What do you think I'd look good in? I'm open to suggestions..!"

Landon looked through the clothes as well, though he wasn't really shopping for himself. He was on the lookout for something else that Henry might like.

A few clothes he'd swipe past, bring a few back into view, then continue to browse through again.

"No?" Landon asked, turning to look in Henry's direction. "Alright, let me pay for this and then we'll try another store."

With that, Landon makes his way to the cashier and places the cardigan down on the counter. After it's all good and paid for, Landon playfully nudges Henry's shoulder with his own. "Ready?"

Silently as a ghost did Henry follow after his boyfriend, picking at the ends of his sleeves before exiting the store with him. Mustering up the MUCH NEEDED COURAGE, Henry turned to Landon with an inquisitive raise of his brow. "...Hey, uh... I appreciate you buying this stuff for me, but I don't wanna spend your money on me. Besides, it isn't like I'll...be out most of the time." Which, in itself, didn't sound all that pleasing for anyone else. His features then turned ANNOYED, a slight pout at his lips. "...I do want to show Cyril that I don't dress like...like an absolute mess. I might not have the best fashion sense, but...I try!"

A blush arose at his cheeks, FAR VIVID than previous times whenever they were together ( though of course, Henry sort of misses the disgusted glances from a certain asshole... ). "...I suppose not," he mutters out, watching Landon glancing at the price. "Then again, I've learned long ago...that I should think twice about that." With a silent nod, Henry followed after him to look around at the different outfits OF ALL KINDS -- some of the clothes did appeal to him, but he really didn't have the confidence to pull off, he didn't think... "Ah... These don't really look...good for me. Maybe we should look somewhere else..."

“Aah…” He trails off before he can even start, eyes turning away from Henry as he retrieves his little matchbook. He turns it absentmindedly as he listens, before finally lighting the one remaining match that he has left. With one hand shielding the cigarette, he lights the end of it and takes a much needed drag.
He blows the smoke away from Henry, then leans in close to him, so that he could light Henry’s cigarette with his own.
“That all? It wasn’t because you missed me too much was it? How awful it must have been to be without me!”

     Once it had straightened, Henry’s nose twitched at the scent of smoke ( familiar, almost COMFORTING in a way ) before he turned to light his own. His eyes lowered to observed the ends meet, embers lighting for a few seconds then he pulled away. Anything to keep THAT buried...   /   WOULDN’T WANT TO REOPEN STITCHED WOUNDS, RIGHT?

     The nicotine helped IMMENSELY. One puff and already, his nerves simmered to their usual buzz. A smile once again tugged at his lips, smoke blown out into STEADY, WISPY STREAMS to join the clouds above them. “...You can read me like a book, Landon,” Henry couldn’t help but chuckle out, his parasol now switched to his other hand to handle better. It could cover the other man as well, if he so wishes to step in closer.      Henry took another drag, welcoming the CALM WAVES as he continued, A TAD QUIETER this time. “You’ve always did. I...guess I’ve missed that too. Japan was nice; it’s always wonderful to come back home, but... I’ve missed this. It feels more...adventurous, I’d say. Every day is something new. Every day, I’d wake up and wonder...just what is in store for me when I step outside.” Then, a pause. He didn’t take another drag for a moment, green eyes peering into the waters before they glanced over at Landon. Curious. Perhaps...even a bit hesitant.      “...Did you miss me?”

Landon reaches into his pocket and pulls out a crumpled cigarette pack. He really should stop by the corner store today, but his stress smoking is getting to be a bit too expensive at this rate.

“I’m a whole lot better now that you’re here,” he says with a wink. “So, what kind of trouble have you been getting into?” Landon offers the packet out towards Henry as he leans his back against the railing, the tip of a squished cigarette poking out for him to take.

     still smoking..? i wouldn’t stop either.       But instead of commenting on the sight, Henry showed the SWEETEST DUSTING OF PINK at his cheeks -- how apparently easy to fluster him! Or perhaps, there’s something else buried within the FESTERING PAIN that made his heart ache. Henry turned his head to allow brown locks to fall to curtain his features...though not before taking the offered cigarette.       It...certainly has been a while.

     “...It’s been kind of quiet,” he answered as he took the moment to straighten out the cigarette with deft fingers. “I’ve been visiting family...since they’ve been worried about me. After that, I came back here because...” ...Because of what, exactly? Vacation? Perhaps a new occupation that caught his eye? All that came to mind was BLANKNESS. “Because...I wanted to visit.”

     The water looked ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL at this time of day; how the blends of oranges, pinks, and the faintest of yellows mirrored the calm waters. Once upon a time, this had been THEIR spot. Once upon a time, this could have had them rooted to the spot and watch as the day slowly change into the CLEAREST OF NIGHTS. The stars looked beautiful in your eyes, one of them would say.     nowadays, i’ve always wondered if i would sink to the bottom, and stay down, if i ever jumped...

     “...I bet he is,” Henry remarked, burying the pain that threatened to slip into his words. “Though...I wouldn’t be surprised if the first words out of his mouth is if I had lost my mind for coming back.” The skirt of his tea dress settled from the wind, the young man walking over to take his side so they could watch over the waters together ( just like old times ). He stared up at the sky for a moment before glancing over at Landon.     “Have you been...alright?”

     His dress flutters in the breeze as he CASUALLY ( it’s been years! should he not be jumping for joy? ) approached the other. The parasol he’s carrying shielded him from the rays of the sun, lifting it up to reveal drooping green eyes. exhausted, yet RELIEVED.       “I should say the same for you... You look the same. Sound the same.” Henry’s features remained IMPASSIVE before glossed lips turned up in a poignant smile. “...I’m glad.”
