The Seeker’s tone puts Josephine on edge. Yes, perhaps she can understand why she is being extremely difficult–no, impossible is more like it–when it comes to her family, but for the life of her, she cannot fathom why she cannot swallow her resentment for a few months. The Inquisition needs all the help it can get–and Josephine is damned if they are unable to secure the aid they need from Nevarra just because of one muleheaded princess.
“Yes, I did.” Her voice is calm, but steely. She dislikes arguing, especially with a fellow advisor and someone she would like to think of as a friend, but she is prepared to stand her ground. “We are at our wits’ end, Lady Pentaghast. Opposition in Nevarra is the last thing we need–and your family is best suited to counter that so that the Inquisition can move in to deal with the rifts.”
A gloved hand was slowly lifted and fingers pinched the bridge of the Seeker’s nose as if it would help to dull her frustration. This was truly aggrivating, considering she and her supposed family had never been on very good terms since even before the loss of her elder brother. Having to deal with the many nobles that lingered around Skyhold was enough and she would have hoped that Josephine was clever enough to see that she did not need this added weight resting on her broad shoulders.
“I cannot belive that you of all people
would go behind my back and plan
such a thing. The Pentaghasts--- Nevarra---
will be of no help to us in the least!”
Cassandra breathed a loud, dismayed groan through chapped lips - shaking her head as she tried to comprehend the Ambassador’s argument. She understood that the Inquisition could use all the help it could get, but what was the point of inviting nobles over that would only cloud one of the advisors’ way of thinking?
“Some families are better off left to do
whatever they do, alone and away from war.
The majority of Nevarra’s nobles are an example
of those that should just be left as they are.”
