Game of thrones

As I’m rewatching the first two seasons I realized something:

When a lord is giving away their castle to someone either because they have an army ready to destroy them or another reason they say “I yield [ _ ] to [ _ ]” . Which is exactly what Bran says to Theon in 2x06. “I yield winterfell to Theon”

However when a lord or lady is welcoming a royal into their home and recognizing their sovereignty they say: “ [ _ ] is yours, your grace”. As we see when King Robert goes to Winterfell and Ned tells him “Your grace, Winterfell is yours.”

This line is also said in season 8 by Sansa to Daenerys. This does not mean that Sansa is giving away Winterfell to Daenerys, just like Ned didn’t give Winterfell to Robert, but simply recognized the king’s power over him.

So everyone calm your tits…

We go, we go, we go to war, to hew the stone and break the door!

Introducing the Silmarillion to a LOTR fan:

Sauron’s boss steals Galadriel’s uncle’s jewels, Aragorn’s ancestors attacks to the gods, Elrond’s mother turns into a bird and in the end everyone dies miserably. You’re gonna love it.
