People also need to realise that canon RPers are basically making their canon muse ‘their own’ by having their own views, headcanons and even making them act out in ways which literally don’t happen in canon. If you RP canon characters at all and ship anything which isn’t official in canon, then that is exactly the same as someone shipping their OC with a canon character.

Which is okay.

People can ship what they want and write stories for whoever and whatever they want. If you don’t like what I ship/don’t ship, that’s okay! I don’t like a lot of popular fan ships as well but that’s okay!

But if you ever send someone hate or try to belittle someone’s personal preferences and interests because they don’t match yours, then you are the asshole that makes the decent people in a fandom have a bad name.

I kept it to myself most of the time, occasionally sharing an idea or two with friends and letting them in on this fanfic and character I had created and the story I had written for them, as well as the relationships they had with canon characters.But I then realised that despite all of this, I was the one doing the effort in making a character and plot. It was personal and for my own entertainment of course, but my friends liked it most of the time. I started to post things and in general got good feedback from others, strangers that I wasn’t friends with. If they thought it was good, then my OC wasn’t all that horrible, right?I also learned that there is always someone that dislikes something. You can’t please everyone. Hell, I am an avid lover of HTTYD yet I REALLY hated certain things in the 2nd movie. It’s normal to not like EVERYTHING about something.

Just remember:YOU are the one drawing pictures of your character. Not them.YOU are writing stories and thinking plots for your fanfic. Not them.YOU are the one putting time and effort into something YOU enjoy. Not them.

And if anyone says otherwise, YOU are the one brave enough to share your own ideas and creations (fan related or not) with others who share your interests.

Not them.

{ Hello! I am on again, but I am leaving for a Pre-Collegiate Program at Stanford University today for 10 whole days away from everything I know and love. So I'm probably not going to be on for a while. I may manage to reply to some stuff, since I'll have a little free time (though, I'd rather spend it messing around with the 3D printer) however, the chances of that are slim. You may see me liking posts or whatever but threads have been put on a semi-hiatus. I hope you understand! I love Caryl a lot, she's probably my favorite muse, and i don't plan on losing her soon.
