Flowers are the only things I care about now

Hey 2017, it's been wild. 2017 was the year I moved to London with fearful determination. The year I quit the job that was my whole life for the past three years. The year of two Disneyland visits on two different continents. The year I went on a Top Deck tour for the first time. The year I jumped from the top of the mouth of a cave into sparkling Adriatic waters. The year of walking around in strange cities alone. The year of crying in cafes, in bookstores, in the arms of my friends. The year of what seemed like an eternity of flat hunting and finally, great flatmates. The year I lost someone very important. The year I performed at my first spoken word poetry open mic. The year of flower markets and rooftop bars. The year of one too many pints of cider and a whole heap of drunken nights. The year of my first pumpkin carving at Halloween. The year of interviews and two new jobs within six months. The year of my first work trip.  The year of my first real Christmas tree. The year of gazing out at different cities from high vantage points. The year I woke up to snow on a cold London morning. The year of Christmas markets, fairy lights, and mulled wine.
This was the year of trying to follow my impulses and ignore my anxiety.  The year of loving (and relying on) my friends more than ever. The year of facing fears and repeating, over and over, “Amy, you're gonna be okay, you can do this.”
Hey 2017, you've been really something.
