I felt like posting this on here-this was a charity techno night we did at my school last year, only to have Big Kenny from Big & Rich show up and drop some new stuff!

I'm in there somewhere, look for my blue glow sticks

Life is not a Single-Player Sport

Let's talk about this, shall we?

If we realized how complex our own mind is, and all the systems and mechanics working to keep us alive, we could look at any other person on this planet and see the exact same systems at work, within and for each person. Every human has the same complexity of mind and body, a market that we almost have a monopoly on; no other species can claim the kind of intelligence and ability that we can.

So then, given that understanding:

Why is it so easy for people to blow off others? Why is it so easy to look at someone who's hurting and tell them to "suck it up"? Why is it so easy to go out and injure each other over some crazy idea that we come up with? We are the dominant species on the planet, and we sure as hell don't act like it.

I swear, if we loved the idea of other human beings as much as we love our idea of ourselves, we'd have it pretty good.

But we can't have nice things because we're too busy being cocky, looking down our noses and existing only within our own universe. Apparently giving something away without any measurable return is inefficient and 'not part of the plan'.

It would be my pleasure to talk about how much I love humans, but until people (on a grand scale) start looking out for someone's benefit besides theirs, I just simply can't...

Please, for the love of doughnuts, give something away; help make something that will last longer than you will; go find something beautiful and tell someone how much you appreciate it. Tell somebody they did a great job. Offer to carry someone's groceries. Compliment somebody's outfit. Anything

Life is not a single-player sport. There is no podium at the end for someone to stand on top of the world, hoisting a huge golden trophy. Humans need to be on a team together, because we all need backup. When you exclusively take care of yourself and your own well-being alone, you gain nothing; that's the only way to lose at life.

Do you ever get the feeling that there's something out to get you? Some cosmically significant force, a comet's tail or an invisible flame, waiting to catch onto the back of your mind?

That's what this looks like. That's what I feel like I have following me, and I don't know what's going to happen.
