Are you possibly thinking of Make Him Proud by d_aia? It’s got a scene where Roxy can’t seduce the mark, but Eggsy figures out how to in like 5 min and part of the problem is Roxy’s poshness. It’s part of a series called Segments and the whole thing is great and there are definitely some angsty moments.

i think one of the reasons cs stans hate regina so much, is because the ouat writers love her so much. have you seen her costumes as the evil queen? fricking snow’s wedding dress looks like someone plucked all the chickens in the enchanted forest, while the evil queen looks amazing. they also made evil!snow’s costumes incredible, this is a show who loves their villains and i’m all for it.
tl;dr: there is NO way you devote so much time and detail into making such amazing costumes and not love her.
Or maybe it’s because she’s done a lot of shit to Emma, the Charmings, and basically every single person in Storybrooke?
I don’t hate Regina, but I’m definitely not a stan. We don’t care that they like Regina, because they also love Captain Swan, so it doesn’t matter.
But Regina has: - taken Emma from her family, causing her to be basically an orphan for 28 years - had Emma arrested - manipulated Henry against her (season 1 where she got Emma to call him “crazy”) - threatened Emma many times - tried poisoning her - cursed Snow (and the rest of Storybrooke) - tried kidnapping Henry with Cora - etc.
*thinks about i* no. i mean, yes, regina’s done a lot of crap, but she owns up to it. doesn’t pretend to be better or more innocent than she is. your heroes, the charmings especially, have done so much crap, and haven’t received so much as a tap on the wrist from the fandom, especially cs stans and charmings stans.
^ notice how i pointed out the cs shippers and charming stans, and not the ouat writers or the show. because in the show, there is no such tihng as pure good or pure evil. not even emma, whom the cs shippers have screwed up into a pretty innocent powerless victim, is as helpless and injured as you make her out to be. you act like your favourites aren’t problematic and swim against the grain of the show itself.
i’d believe you, if you showed even half the strict contempt you have for regina, as you do for the charmings and emma. but you don’t. you let them get away with so much crap.

i love the ouat finale.
i love having a new villain. emma as a hero was amazing, because she was hyperaware of “darkness” and “evil” and could maneurver in the hero/villain world in ways that her parents and other heroes (and villains) couldn’t, because of their own arrogance. emma as a character is three dimensional, complex, and not that pathetic “blonde white princess who is pointlessly attacked by evillll” the show itself shows that its not that easy.
i especially love that most cs shippers are disappointed. whil logically, being a cs shipper doesnt automatically make you a dipshit, there is a surprising portion of cs shippers that are in complete and utter denial with the greyscale of emma’s morality, motives, personality. she is good out of choice and hard work, and its never been easy. (i theorize that she could feel the burden of having the dark potential removed, because that is an unbalanced existence) they could immaturely ignore this before, but not anymore.
i am so excited with the new villain. also this tingles my sq senes: evil queen duo? aw yes.
eggsy thought it would be funny to give slenderman to the kingsman rec room.
cue three months of seasoned killers wearily eyeing the receptionist and the suit elves and the mannequins. especially the mannequins.
(eggsy trying to convince merlin to wear silts and a extra long black suit to scare the new recruits, and merlin’s like no eggsy no- harry stop laughing)
everytime i see cora, as much as i dislike her, i have to remind myself that she is literally heartless. she ripped her own heart heart out.
she wanted out of poverty and misery. her first attempt was a conman who left her unmarried and pregant. her second attempt was foiled by a spoilt bitch who threw a tantrum because she didn’t marry the king her daddy promised her.
you know what i find funny? that, in order to compete with normal royal behaviour, she had to be heartless. if a conniving teenager is willing to use your unborn child to ruin your life, can you imagine what adults with experience will do to you?
“love is weakness” is not a self-pity party. love is weakness is cora’s life lesson. she loved a man, and the idea that he could get her out of abject poverty. she loved her first born so much, she had to abandon her, because if she kep the baby, everything else would come second. even poverty. she loves regina so much, that it constantly leaks into her hearless behaviour, where she always tries to do something for regina and it beackfires because it’s wrong. (see: nottingham incident)
i don’t care how sorry snow’s mom was. we now have one of the most powerful evil people in the world, who raised another evil, and they onw have to deal with the consequences.

the cs tag is a heteronormative masturbatory nightmare. and it has nothing to do with what emma wants, and everything to do with middle aged women wanking over colin o’d and projecting onto his love interest, and a lot of violent backlash against those who a) disagree, or b) ship differently, the likes of which we seasoned shippers only see in newbies and people with interalized misogyny. it also has nothing to do with hook, just colin o’d and his beard and ladykiller smile and moist nethers.
and 99% of their ranting is anti swan queen with a dash of ‘were not homophobic’. trigger warning for every hetero passive aggressive microagression you never thought as bad, but that made you feel sick on the inside.
Bingo. But to be fair, they’re not all middle-aged. Some are tweens/teens and others are twentysomethings who cut their teeth on Twilight.
The CSers I have personally interacted with nearly all classified themselves as “Ugly Ducklings,” meaning that Emma always came first. Emma was their Poor Baby who was wronged at every turn (and therefore, Regina and Neal are The Worst People Ever for casting the curse/leaving her to the cops, and the regret they expressed later for doing this doesn’t matter because THEY RUINED BB EMMA’S LIFE1!!1ONE!!!). Emma was their sparkly, magic princess idol who deserved only the Hawttest Menz, or whoever they thought were hottest. So Graham, Jefferson, August, Hook. All of these men pretty much have their actions toward Emma excused, some more than others (Hook far more than anyone, even though he’s also by far the worst of the lot, but COLIN!!1!)
There are also a number of CSers who don’t really care about Emma at all, who simply use her as a convenient vehicle for their Killy fantasies, which frankly I find more honest than those who claim to be “True Emma Stans” and say they want what’s best for her, while steadfastly ignoring how her relationship with Regina has evolved, ignoring how Neal apologized and refused to force himself back into her life, and ignoring Henry pretty much all the time because he’s inextricably linked to those two characters, and they would rather have Emma just dump him at Regina’s full time so she can be barefoot and pregnant with a syphilic date rapist who can’t seem to stop lying to her about everything, simply because she claims she “doesn’t care” about his past. YMMV, but that’s what I’ve seen.

hi i actually ship swan queen and hate captain swan and i agree that a lot of sq haters are homophobic but could you explain how saying that they'll refer to canon is homophobic. I mean technically sq isn't canon (although i wish it was *sobs*) but i didn't see anyone use that argument so i might not understand the context sorry if this question seems a bit stupid X(
the question is entirely valid. i’ll try to answer and be kind, but i’m not too good with explanations, so please bear with me.
title: why sq haters who justifying their sq hate with canon is homophobic
1) canon is hypocritical
usamerican media, and everyone else influenced by them, has no problem making a couple out of Man and Woman, even if they don’t talk to each other. and this formula: Child + Good Biological Parent A + Evil Adoptive Parent B + Transgenerational Betrayal
if Swan Queen were Swan King, we would have a shipping war to drown even Destiel. it would have been as unhealthy, passive aggressive, and back-and-forth-y as rumpel/belle, if not much, much worse.
2) canon is homophobic
ouat canon is not homophobic because they showed homosexual adoption as normal and good.
ouat canon is not homophobic because mulan is in love with aurora and it’s canon!!
two brother faking gay and one warrior being all noble and silent about unrequited love? that is not inclusive. that is curel. giving us those two sorry excuses of representation, one is fucking fake and the other one is telling us to be happy for not being dead, and expecting us to shut up about it? that’s fucked up.
2) b: usamerican media is homophobic (and also very racist)
this is something non-usamericans, especially we europeans have a hard time understanding. give me 5 shows with a canon mogii (Marginalized Orientation, Gender Identity and Intersex, the alternative to the mouthy lgbt+, who is hypocritical and leaves out everyone else) character who is not a cishet gay man, as a recurring/main character. (glee doesn’t count)
a cast full of cishet white people is no coincidence. the pick of actors, their pairings, their actions... and ouat is no exception.
i’ve noticed that usamericans go all the way when “children” or “tradition” and “family values” are concerned, and there’s nothing more child-oriented/focused or traditional than fairy tales. even if usamericans fundamentally misunderstand how the cultures of their chosen fairy tales work. (heave)
3) equating SQ with CS is fundamentally misunderstood
CS is a cishet ship. cis Man and cis Woman, by the laws of media dynamics, are automatically plausible on tv. oh and look, it’s canon.
SQ is not a het ship. be they lesbians, bisexual, or otherwise, we are never going to see SQ as canon. ever. literally every scene where emma and regina are in the same room with some interaction is just that: interaction. it. will. never. happen. except in fantasy.
if you’re equating sq and cs, you’re basically saying: taking the train, which is 5 minutes away from me and free, and riding a unicorn, which is a mythological animal, is also the exact same thing.
alternatively: there are people who ride black horses, and people who ride white horses, and the white horse riders murder all the black horses only to look at their owners and say: white horses are obviously better, only white horses allowed on the streets, why are you walking? you are infringing on my freedoms and hurting my by talking about your memories. of back horses. that i shot. and bathed in their blood.
4) using canon to justify your hate for SQ is homophobic
especially when canon is homophobic. and saying “well I am not homophobic therefore my reasons aren’t” is naive and wrong.
saying “CS is right because it’s canon, take that you sq shipping losers, oh my god you’re all so wrong i feel sick” is pathetic and cruel, and shows lack of maturity and perspective.
so are: “i’m going back to the cs tag because sq is so dirty, give me back my canon”
“it’s called canon for a reason: just accept that cs is the only right one”
“we’re not homophobic, sq just don’t belong together” (while ignoring that writers are doing this on purpose)
and many, many more.
5) conclusion
you don’t have to ship sq to support it. but you do have to get that head out of your butt and your egos in check when you’re gloating about your REAL SHIP to people who will only, for ever, and ever, until the end of the show if nothing changes, FRICKING IMAGINE.

consider thorin *purposely* having ori run errands and by some weird utter coincidence, dwalin happens to be nearby and fails like a faildwarf.
