League update!

  • Rules have been updated to USUM! -> Mega pokemon are allowed. -> Poipole, Naganadel, Stakataka, Blacephalon and Zeraora have been added to the banlist. -> Leaders have updated their teams according to the update.
  • Gym pages have been completely reworked!  -> Gym pages no longer have their unique themes, but instead use the same layout as the main blog. -> All separate tabs from gym pages have been removed, so all info is on the screen at the same time. -> Ask boxes have been removed but the link to the leader’s blog remains. -> The leader’s pokemon are shown on a leader sheet instead of gifs. The sheet also shows the leader’s badge, IGN, FC and time zone. 
  • The leader page changes are due to problems with the gifs and long loading times due to their complexity. The new simplified design should make browsing gyms much easier.

Is this place still active will you guys be revamping for Ultra Sun and Ultra moon?

The rules and leader pages are receiving an update that moves the league officially to USUM era. The update would have arrived around New Year’s but we have a couple of inactive members and the blog handlers haven’t had the time to roll out the update.

It might be quiet here on the blog, but our Discord server still has daily activity so it’s entirely possible to join the league and challenge our leaders even at this time. :)

Yes, the league is still running. We’re taking advantage of the quiet period and moving Frontier League’s chat groups from Skype into Discord. Simply click the link below to join, or make an account if you haven’t already.

Pros for the new chat are member roles that make it easy to check which users are gym leaders and which of them are online at any time. Being able to fluently use the chat from a mobile device as well as directly from a browser make it even easier to get battles going.

Once you’ve read and understood our rules you’ll go to our submit box and follow instructions there.

If you’ve already done this and you’re wondering how to gain badges, all you need to do is choose a leader and send them an ask through their leader page stating that you are a challenger and interested in a gym battle. Another way is to join our skype chat and ask around if any leaders happen to be there, but tumblr is our primary channel for gym challenges.

If a bulky Pokémon is ever needed, look no further than Primarina. Or in my opponents case, look at Porygon2. The battle simply started with a misplay of poisoning the wrong Pokémon. But did the tides turn? See if Challenger Ben was able to receive the Lethality Badge.

Leader Mattwo vs Challenger Raine

The first hints of warmer weather a filtering through the trees here, and my team’s been eager to shake the ice off and get some more battles in. 

Challenger Raine made the hike through my woods to earn my badge, and their team didn’t disappoint!  With both of us trying some new things out, this was a refreshing fight with some good surprises.  My team fought through the rain of status effects and with some Fairy-type power, we held our ground!  Thanks for the match, Challenger, I look forward to the next one!

Leader Mattwo VS Challenger Michael

Challenger Michael hiked to my woods to show off his new team.  Bringing us out of hibernation, he attempted to sweep me right from the start!  My team and I were still a bit sluggish from the winter haze, but my Quagsire showed up ready for a brawl!

Michael played hard and fought well, getting some good predictions on my movements, but these woods are deep in winter yet, and with no grass to bear and a marathon of knockouts from Quagsire, nature took its course for this challenger!

With the update to the Frontier League, I was looking forward to getting in some great battles with challengers.  And for my first one, I certainly wasn’t disappointed!

Ben came forth and our teams clashed once again, and as always Ben provided a close, intense match.  Through a lot of prediction and strategy, we both were brought to our last two Pokémon, but which team proved too hot to handle this time?

New gyms + New season begins!

Sun&Moon has finally arrived at Frontier League! New graphics are here so take a look at our updated Leader pages! Rule changes can be found in this post, and in addition to that we have some new gyms to introduce!

Our first new gym is a returning theme but with new twists: Tropical Garden makes a comeback and replaces the Disaster gym! This jungle threat is maneuvered by Leader Satira (previously known as Leader Tobias) in Double battle format and a victory against him will earn you the Cherry Blossom badge.

Secondly, One Step Ahead gym has retired and will be replaced by Glacier! To fight the masters of freeze you have to reach the Elite Four and once victorious you will earn the Frost badge! Glacier gym is run by Elite Four member Skudde and operates in Double battles.

A jump to another generation of Pokemon has also spurred multiple changes to existing themes, so check below the cut to see the list of other adjustements!
