I received this email promotion and decided to alter it to be more accurate. This is an example of thin privilege, as well as inbetweenie and small fat relative privilege.
ModCloth created this special line as a collaboration with a fat fashion icon and it doesn’t even go up as high as their other plus sizes. I certainly won’t fit into it. Thanks, ModCloth, for disappearing those over a size 22 while working specifically with a fat designer.
People who were sized out of this collection have every right to be frustrated with that, but "2-22" was a marketing moniker that I'm guessing was used for the sake of alliteration. The collection goes up to a 4X, which translates to a 26/28. Some of the pieces (the sweaters, the tutu skirt, the coat) are also very generously sized and could probably accommodate beyond a 4X. I'm sorry it wasn't in my control to add more sizes, but it is incorrect to say that the collection is 2-22.
