GOOD TO KNOW EVEN IF YOU AREN’T VEG OR VEGAN. I’m trying to cut down on my meat intake and healthy protien snacks are super helpful in keeping hunger away.

THIS IS GOOD FOR SPOONIES. i have a hard time getting food into my face even on good days, and if i have several bad days in a row and subsist on whatever snacks i had within reach of my bed? i feel so gross from not enough protein. i learned ages ago that peanut butter is full of so much protein, and i used to (need to go back to) keep a jar by my bed, along with some - ha ha - spoons. knowing how to get protein into your body when you can’t get much of anything into your body is an important skill.

I’m just going to add that you need to be aware of portion sizes when you look at these graphs as the uniform measurements used can make things look way better (or worse) than they are. Your average person isn’t going to eat 3.5oz of most of these in a sitting. For example: 3.5oz of tofu is just about the ‘average’ portion size. No bit deal. 3.5oz of peanut butter is a third of a cup or 3 average servings. If you are eating 6 Tbsp of run of the mill PB, you are getting a ton of calories, fat (75% of your daily recommended intake), sodium and sugar to go with your protein. If you have no energy left and you just need to get SOMETHING in your body, then go for it. If you’re trying to ‘eat healthier it may not be the greates idea. 3.5oz  hemp seed would be about 7 tablespoons (2-3 average servings or so). Eating that much hemp seed is likely to give you the shits from all the ‘good’ fats they have. Stick with 2 Tbsp or so. So yeah, make sure you are reading infographics with a critical eye. I saw one saying leafy greens had more iron than red meat according to caloric intact, but hid the fact you’d have to eat 15 cups of spinach to equal 3 ounces of 90% ground beef. I love my spinach, but there’s an upper limit.

16-year-old artist Dimitra Milan grew up surrounded by art and has since worked to cultivate her own unique style. Four years ago, she began painting when her parents opened Arizona’s Milan Art Institute, allowing her to take any class that caught her attention. From classical oil techniques to contemporary mixed media, Milan’s skill set grew along with her desire to paint.
