This is a great read that’s extremely (and almost eerily) similar to many aspects of a long conversation about sexism that I had with my fiance katie-the-cat-lady last night. The takeaway from that conversation—and from this piece, I think—is that you may be a good guy or even a great guy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be a better guy. The more we all make our entire lives a study in understanding others the more we’re gonna make the world a better place. Start with yourself and never stop working at it and it’s gonna make a difference.
Be better, men.
You remember that time when you were a kid and you were told by any adult that simply not partaking in bullying others was not enough? And that standing by and not saying a thing makes you just as guilty of doing the act yourself?
