so basically…. I think I’m gonna be deleting this blog. the fandoms on here are just things I’m not interested in anymore, but I will be creating a new blog that’s kinda like aesthetic??? it’s @lyricwaiwiri

a singer was murdered at her own concert. over fifty people in a gay club have been hospitalised and/or killed in a violent hate crime. children are being shot. parents are being shot by their kids. a black man can’t reach into his pockets without police assuming that it’s anything but a gun. 2015 was the highest year for people killed by police. at this rate, how much could possibly be too much before somebody decides to take action and start controlling gun laws? how could things possibly get worse?

People always say that guns don’t kill people, people kill people- and while the person yielding the gun undoubtedly controls its power, people fail to understand that guns allow far more leverage to cause damage. A person with the intent to kill could /arguably/ do so with a knife, baseball bat, etc., but they wouldn’t have the same power and ease to mass murder so quickly. Gun related violence in America is obscene and if the people and the government fail to recognize there is a problem then all it will do is allow more and more innocent deaths.

all it takes is one homophobe with a gun. just one. in a gay bar opened in honour of the owner’s brother who died from aids, named specifically for his heartbeat as a place that was intended to keep his spirit alive. shooter saw two men kissing in front of his wife and kid and got “very angry”. 50 people dead, 53 in the hospital, because one guy who owned a gun saw two guys kiss and got mad
