Hey there! I'm Emma (they/them), a 28 y/o nb ace (but still questioning) feminist from America ♾️🌈 Icon: https://picrew.me/image_maker/296093 | TERFS NOT WELCOME | | ANTIFA | | ASK TO TAG | This is not a spoiler-free blog, but I do tag spoilers accordingly. I'm into The Owl House, She Ra, Steven Universe, Avatar the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra, FMAB, Legend of Zelda, Undertale/Deltarune, etc. etc. etc. I care about human rights so there's some of that too! I will absolutely tag things if you send me an ask about it. Basically this blog is a flaming pile of anything and everything that interests me 🤙

Hi everybody!

Just a quick disclaimer for my blog: this is my only blog. This is where I post/reblog anything and everything. This means there's a really awkward mix of fandom stuff, memes, and serious content. I try to tag everything accordingly (#covid19, #protests, #acab, etc. are used for the majority of the serious stuff) but I want to be clear on this: just because I reblog a She Ra gifset followed by a call to action to donate to homeless black trans women doesn't mean that I'm not recognizing the seriousness of the situation. It means I do not have the capacity to run 2-3 sideblogs on this site. Sorry for the whiplash.

Hey guys, Hala from this fundraiser I've vetted had her account terminated and had to create a new one, the one you see in my inbox here.

Here's a reminder about Hala's fundraiser:

I know I sound like your mom but you kids need to stop fucking vaping

1) Vaping is confirmed to cause cancer. Vaping coats the lungs with toxic substances, such as heavy metals and benzene, which are known to cause cancer

2) Many vapes contain diacetyl, which, when inhaled causes popcorn lung, or scarring of the lung

3) Ultrafine particles, when being inhaled, can be lodged in the trachea (not good!)

4) Ultrafine particles can also constrict the arteries in the lungs potentially causing A HEART ATTACK

5) Vaping is relatively new. Not much studies have been done in comparison to tobacco. Plus, the vaping companies are powerful people. There is a large chance that they are purposely downplaying and even burying any evidence that vaping is harmful - just like the tobacco companies before them. They do not care about you, or your health, or the truth. They only care for money

Also STOP VAPING INDOORS AROUND OTHER PEOPLE. Holy shit, if you're gonna wreck your lungs at least give me the option not to wreck mine.

It’s such an issue that the MTA had to run a campaign about it

yeah okay ill reblog that

im so fucking serious when i say that no one is crueler to visibly disabled people than girlies with blue wolfcuts and sharp eyeliner wearing hundred dollar sweaters from shein.

like. there's a weird misconception that it's old people, but i have never once had an issue with anyone over the age of, like, 55. they are fine with me muttering to myself or making weird faces or not hearing them the first five times they call my name. that's not a problem for them. when my brother goes out with a cane, they're the ones who compliment it, and tell him the spikes and ribbons are a cute addition.

yesterday this pink haired girl in the bathroom told me that i needed to stay away from movie theaters if i was going to act like a schizo. ten minutes later an 80 year old woman complimented me on my bright red hearing aids and said she wished she had that confidence when she got hers.

anyways to the anon who just said that maybe i shouldn't be in public spaces. thank you for proving my point

no offense but if you're low support autistic or adhd and you're thinking of adding on your story, i very much cannot stop you, but i beg of you to remember this post was about psychosis and physical disabilities. there's a problem with people taking over posts about physical and more stigmatized disorders and making them about low support autism and adhd

hey okay addressing something ive been seeing in the comments.

the blue hair wolf cut is not the point. what im trying to say here is that alt girls, especially queer alt girls, especially queer alt girls with autism or adhd or anxiety, have a tendency to claim they are above ableism. they say that they cannot be ableist because they are a woman, because they are queer, because they have autism or adhd or anxiety.

yes!!! My school is a prime example of this. I go to an art school full of queer neurodivergent alternative people, so I assumed it would be a supportive environment of my disability. Nope! They photograph me and post it online, record me and other disabled people and neurodivergent kids with higher support needs, they write graffiti about how I’m faking. But then those same students will turn around and proudly call themselves leftists.

I love my friends, and I love my family, but oftentimes they act like I need to try harder, or take some ibuprofen and suck it up. Even in a family of left leaning people, who are all ND, I am treated differently.

My younger brother has incontinence issues and my other siblings tend to bully him for it ruthlessly, going so far as to tell his friends about it as if it's some moral failing.

I have very progressed mobility issues, and still my friends and family act as if I do not, or treat them as exaggerated.

I am autistic. I stim, my family and friends act as if it is gross or embarrassing.

I have tourettes, I ticc. My family and friends act as if it is embarrassing for them to be near me, and I am told to cut it out, or to calm down.

I have P-DID. I am unable to speak to my family about this, as they believe my trauma and pain are not enough to "count". That the trauma OF pain is not traumatic enough.

It tends to be the younger, left, alternative, progressive, "activist", queer, ND, who treat disabled people as worthless, as uncomfortable, as if their "comfort" matters more than my livelihood.

I hold nothing against my family, and nothing against my friends, but it is up to them to realize and reform those ideas.

To all able-bodied people, to all people without a stigmatized disorder/disability, to all the people who call themselves an ally, a supporter, to all the family members and friends:

You are not immune to ableism.

You are not immune to being an asshole just because you have anxiety, ADHD, LSN autism. You are not better than high support needs people, psychotic people, physically disabled people, people with stigmatized disorders and disabilities.

You are not better than the teen with fibro.

You are not better than the adult who uses AAC.

You are not better than the kid with a rollator.

You are not better than the person with psychosis.

You are not better than the autistic person with HSN.

You are not better than the person in a power chair.

You are not better than the person with a G-bag.

You are not better than the person with a feeding tube.

You are not better than the person with hearing aids.

You are not better than the person with visual impairments.

You are not better than the person with seizures.

You are not better than, worth more than, or deserved more than a disabled person. No matter how uncomfortable they make you.

You are not better than us because you're "special".

You are not immune to ableism.

Had a friend back in the day ask me to try not to have any of my neurological episodes (passing out) because it triggers his anxiety. The real irony? I have functional neurological disorder, passing out is also tied to stress and anxiety (except I also have to watch out for things like if I’m having too good of a time, if the fabric of my bra would irritate my chronic pain, and changes in the weather etc)

I was essentially asked if I could just snap out of MY anxiety disorder because it gave HIM anxiety and he wanted to avoid a panic attack. This isn’t to say a panic attack isn’t entirely debilitating! But that day he communicated a few things to me that he didn’t meant to communicate.

The fact of the matter is that I was risking an episode to hang out with my friend. It very much could have been too exciting, the threshold on my stress meter back then was much lower. And it never even occurred to him that if he were the one to have a panic attack it may cause me to have an episode. But I decided “this, to me, is worth the risk.” When he asked me to try not to have one it told me that hanging out with me was not worth the risk to him.

Same guy once told me he could understand my chronic pain (crps aka the suicide disease, ranked as a 42/50 on the McGill pain scale, and the very trauma that made me develop functional neurological disorder) because his elbow hurt when he moved it a certain way.

In the early afternoon of 29 November last year, several Palestinian boys descended on to their street in the occupied West Bank, where they often played together.Minutes later, two of them lay dead from gunshots fired by Israeli soldiers - Basil, 15, and eight-year-old Adam. As part of an investigation into the conduct of Israel's security forces in the West Bank, which has been under military occupation for more than half a century, the BBC has pieced together what happened on the day the two boys were killed. Mobile phone and CCTV footage, information about the movements of Israel's military, witness testimony and detailed investigation of the scene, including taking measurements, combine to reveal evidence suggesting serious human rights violations. The evidence we found has prompted Ben Saul, UN special rapporteur on human rights and counter-terrorism, to say the death of Adam appears to be a "war crime".Another legal expert, Dr Lawrence Hill-Cawthorne, described the use of lethal force as “indiscriminate”. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the circumstances of the deaths were “under review” but said “live fire is used only in order to remove immediate threats or for arrest purposes, following arrest protocols after exhausting other options”.
Video footage from 29 November shows Basil standing next to a hardware store, its shutters firmly locked down. When Israel's military arrives, shops close quickly in Jenin, a city in the West Bank - Palestinian territory which, unlike Gaza, is not run by Hamas. Witnesses said gunfire had been ringing out from a nearby operation by Israel's army in the Jenin refugee camp. Adam, a football fanatic and massive Lionel Messi fan, stood with his older brother Baha, 14. There were about nine boys on the street in total, all captured on CCTV cameras that provided a nearly 360-degree view of what happened next.
A few hundred metres away, a convoy of at least six armoured Israeli military vehicles turned a corner and began heading towards the boys, who clearly became uneasy. Several of the boys started to move away. At this precise moment, mobile phone footage shows the front door of an armoured vehicle opened. The soldier inside had a direct view of the boys. Basil had darted into the middle of the road, while Adam was 12m further from the soldiers, running away. Then at least 11 gunshots rang out.
Medical reports obtained by the BBC show that two shots hit Basil in the chest. Another bullet struck eight-year-old Adam in the back of the head as he ran away; his older brother Baha desperately tried to drag him to cover, leaving a trail of blood as he screamed for an ambulance.

ID: a laptop screen that is pixelated with many vertical and horizontal lines. A closed laptop with the screen entirely broken, where a piece of the outer metal screen has fallen off and the wires and cables are visible.

so my laptop is entirely broken and because of where I am right now and risk of being barricaded in without ability to leave, I can’t leave to go use library computers. I need to replace my laptop ASAP, as I have four essays left to write before I graduate and have a lot of things I need to do for my work (data analysis, etc etc etc) that can only be done on a laptop.

I don’t have enough to buy another laptop right now. The laptop I’m planning on buying to replace it that can handle the software and storage I need for my other work is $350. I have $200 of that right now, but need to fundraise the other $150.

after recently becoming a wheelchair user and getting let go from one of my jobs because of Palestinian liberation activism, money is really rough right now. any help is so so appreciated, but please prioritize other survival fundraisers, especially fundraisers from Gaza right now.

Thank you so so much.

Hello! First, I hope your day has more good than bad in it, and thank you for all the work you do to amplify the Palestinian cause. I just got a dm from @alaa-jawad and I wanted to make sure the request is legitimate before I share? Thank you so much again! God willing Palestine will be liberated very soon.

Vetted family fundraiser masterpost 1

Version date: May 2nd 2024.

This is a masterpost for the evacuation fundraisers I've vetted so far. The numbers next to the names have no significance beyond ease of navigation for me for when I check their progress in the future. You should look at the disclaimers instead and focus on those. Occasionally I will update these with new info, including new fundraisers, and the amount of cash that's been raised. Check in regularly on the original post when you see it being reblogged. In all likelihood once its reached you it's already outdated. This post is part of this masterpost series compiling fundraisers for Ghazzah and Sudan. I focus on Ghazzah as I am Palestinian and am more equipped to do verifications as I'm more familiar with my own country and its politics and dialect, but if I know a fundraiser for a Sudanese family is legit I will include it here.
