The calm before the storm. One week ago in Bangkok, taken the day before the bombing, from the windows of the apartment we stayed in near Victory Monument. There was a major cycling event in the city that day, so a lot of major roads were blocked, our's were no exception. (note the empty street at the bottom of the pic) 10,000 cyclists on the road, and even more spectators. We kept saying thankfully the bomb didn't go off on this day, or more people would die. But truth is locals were never the target, their target were tourists and the tourism industry.
