Approaching the End... Alone? ||Open ||

Darkness slowly crept upon her, its shadowy tendrils sliding across her cooking skin, blanketing her from the harsh edges of gravel digging into her body. The roar of her slowing heartbeat was the only sound she could hear. Even her thoughts were muted it seemed. Or maybe she no longer had the energy to even thing…. Her lone pink eye, half lidded, fighting against the pressure she had only felt in Aizen’s presence, faced the black void stretching out to surround her motionless form. It wasn’t until the seams closed when her thoughts started to flicker across her tired, battered, mind.

Where’s Starrk?” The question echoed, causing her ears to ring from the sound of her own thought repeatedly slamming against her brain.

“So loud;                   It hurts;    Stop;                                                  Starrk;               Where….; Why,”

Every thought was like a kick in the head, done so at intermittent intervals and made her want to cringe. But movement was impossible. She couldn’t even twitch her fingers; the shadows binds were tight, keeping her immobile. And her thoughts wouldn’t end until she was dead…. Which brought forth snippets of memories. They were projected above her, in the black void, before fading back to black. By all accounts she should be dead, but this couldn’t possibly be death could it? This frigid, lonely, oppressing abyss?

Lilynette whimpered. With her recovering awareness came her abilities to create sounds, lower the volume of her echoing thoughts, and shift her eye…. Though it didn’t do any good. Pitch blackness was the only thing she could see, and so, with another soft sound of distress, Lilynette let her heavy eye fall to a close. She let her consciousness slip away. Her last thought echoed, fading away with her, was one of despair.

                              “You promised we’d be together….

                                                 Why am I…

                                                   alone?”

Her breath rises in puffs of frost - Vivid blue tracing over her skin with panic and worry.

“Shouldn’t she be near Starrk?” His words are desperate - cracked out through the silence. The only other figure moves, observes the dark, unmoving forms on her beds, before glancing at him.

“Aren’t they separate beings?” She questions lightly, the 4th division captain moving forward to lift the small woman up in gentle arms, settling her against the larger, warmer one at his terrified request.

He’d found her in the aftermath of their battle with Kyōraku, their masks shattered and barely alive. He’d healed them, best as he could with the battle raging around them, secreted them away to Unohana, who had conceded to his demands of care.

Now there was nothing left to do but wait. Wait and hope that they were alive.

The vague feeling of movement stirred her away from unconsciousness long enough to realize she was slowly filling with warmth, replacing the icy cold that had gripped her. Starrk... She could feel his presence near her, his wavering reiatsu wrapping around her in a semblance of comfort, that had her relaxing fully. Lilynette hadn’t been abandoned. Not by Starrk at least...

Her body was working its way into awareness the longer the fluctuating warmth caressed her and Lily could hear the soft sounds of metal on metal. The fight wasn’t over yet, she belatedly realized. Yet... Opening her lone pink eye, a shocking view of fluffy white clouded her vision. Blinking to clear away the haze, she realized with a start that it was her surprising friend.

“Toshiro,” she breathed out on a sigh, lifting a heavy hand to press it against his chilled cheek... “You silly child... I’m your enemy remember?” Though she had never hurt him. Would never hurt him. No...

How could she hurt one who knew her loneliness well?

My microphone is awful. I am so sorry.
I was talking about you. You, “Queen”, who fucked her way to her position… Much like you accused the idiots in this movie of doing. Birds of a feather flock together but no one likes their shortcomings exposed… When faced with that they either mock or they accept. Guess which one you chose? Oh? Loyal followers? Please. No one is loyal to a fool like you. You’re replaceable. You’re foolish… A child begging for attention, to be loved, and you’ve fooled yourself into thinking you have it… but… You’re ignorant. An idiot who is trying to delude herself into believe she is something more- when she is really something less. You think you have power? You think you have loyalty? You think people will bow down before you at every twist and turn you make? My dear… You continue to prove how idiotic you truly are. Pathetic… Brag and boast all you like. Try to ruin me if you wish. But you will not succeed. I’m a seated officer, child. I outrank you, by a high amount, in terms of status and in strength. I’m backed by multiple people because of the orphanages I’ve created- built up from scratch really. My name is pure, unlike yours which is tainted from the dark actions you took against those who challenged you, who pointed out the parts of yourself you didn’t want to see. Try and slander my name, “Oh Mighty Ignorant One”, but you will not succeed. …. Now to see how the other officers and my Captain would react to being drugged.
