i think a lot of us have felt confused as to which species certain myumon are supposed to be, so i put together this list!! this info is taken from their in-game bio, the japanese wiki, or simply by observing their designs.

about trichronika: while the twins’ species is simply not listed, shuuzou is said to not be allowed to talk about his species by his agency at all. slightly unsettling… in any case, all three of them obviously are canids.

a lot of japanese fans like to think of the twins as fennec foxes? i agree… as for shuuzou, we have this theory that he’s a papillon dog… it’d fit his appearance and demeanor, not to mention work with all of the butterfly imagery associated to him!

about the yokai: some members of shinimonogurui & tekebakitsu sou are creatures taken from japanese folklore. if you’re interested in knowing more: zashiki warashi, kappa, tengu.

as for tsugihagi and gashigashi, it was hard to translate exactly what they are in a few words… basically, they’re both ghosts haunting objects. tsugihagi is colorful scraps of cloth pieced together, while gashi is konpeito!

other stuff: oboro is an oni (オニ) which i translated as demon, but could also mean ogre or troll; basically he’s a specific kind of yokai from japanese folklore. i wanted to specify this so it doesn’t seem like he’s the same species as deyan, who’s literally a devil (デビル)

oboro, kamui, yksb, acidmond, mix & rix are all synthetics of sorts, but different ones. kamui is a machine (マシーン) which i assume means he was straight up fabricated in the future his band comes from?? oboro and yksb are cyborgs (サイボーグ), so cybernetic enhanced animals/yokai… while the three other members of rapezzi are electro (エレクト)… i have no idea what that’s supposed to represent… but. yeah

Show By Rock!! Character Profiles (part I)

Translations of the character profiles of Shingan Crimsonz, Plasmagica, Trichronika, Demonsvenom and Gaugastrikes’ members. I translated bits and pieces of SBR chara profiles for fun on my twitter and I figured that if I already spent the time on translating these, I may as well polish everything up and share it with everyone. Although I tried to be thorough, there may be some mistakes or some things may be oddly/awkwardly worded. Hopefully someone will find this useful though~ (If anyone notices any mistrans etc., please send me a message!)

All the translated info and images are taken from the profiles in the game, the anime’s HP and the Japanese wikia. I also checked the romanization of some names with this post  by metal-chan7.
