Dear Future Me

Hello, I hope you've forgotten you ever made this post by now. If you're reading this and all has gone according to plan, it means you've graduated from god knows what college with a degree in film and television.  I hope you've gotten an internship (well I suppose you'll have to) and that you've discovered if screenwriting in really the right place for you.

The thing is, I know you can make it, its just a matter of confidence. You only get one shot at this life. There is no excuse for not trying to do everything you want to do. Maybe screenwriting makes you miserable, no matter how much confidence you can muster. There is no shame in trying again.

You can try as many times as it takes for you to be happy. Maybe you'll want to be a teacher or a park ranger or a simple novelist. Maybe you just want to get married and have Spencer and Persephone and let someone take care of you. Those are all okay. As long as you are happy.

You have a long road ahead, but that's good because the long road is what life is. The long road can be as scenic or as desolate as you make it. I want you to know that I believe in you. You have all the power you can give yourself. You have no less value or power than any other human being on this earth. 

There's a place in the sun for anyone who has the will to chase one. 

I'm proud of you. You made it farther than I ever thought I would get. Keep going. You've got this.

If it turns out you’re cis, it’s okay, you’ll still have gained a better understanding of yourself.

oh dear, that's so awful. ;-; I hope that it's not something that's going to a recurring medical issue. ;; this might not be very helpful, but um the effects of testosterone can take a long time to be noticeable, especially to other people, so at least you might not have to deal with them being upset with the incongruence in your appearance? but that is still a painful situation to be in right now, i'm sorry. ;;

i hope not too, it’s happened before and gotten better, but it’s never been this painful before. yeah, hopefully it won’t be much of a problem. i can probably wear baggy clothing and hopefully my body will be able to handle wearing a tight sports bra, and that should help me pass well enough. i just really wanted to be able to bind for my own emotional comfort :/ but i’m feeling a bit better mentally now. thank you for the kind words and support <3

not to be a preachy freak but community college is an awesome, underutilized resource. if people could get their heads out of their asses and stop stigmatizing cc, everyone could save so much money.

for some people like myself, it is a 2nd chance. in high school i was seriously considering dropping out but i graduated w a 2.5-2.7 gpa that no uni was gonna take. now im in 1 of the top 10 design programs in tha country. some people did fine in hs but can’t afford a 4 yr right away and cc almost halves that cost. Or maybe u just want ur associates degree.. or maybe u just need to stay close to home to take care of ur fam…or u’re an older student and cc gives u the chance to work while taking night classes. there are so many reasons ppl go to cc and there’s nothing wrong with any of them…stop shitting on cc and cc students
