Long Gone is a new Boston band with members of Curmudgeon, Disipline, Dead Uncles, etc. One of the people who runs Nervous Nelly plays the drums in it. Comparisons have been made to various alt country and loud indie greats, so hardened punkers approach with caution.

just got back from what i decided a week ago was the last olde growth tour. curmudgeon played our final show last month. it’s weird for my two longest-running and most important bands (and, really, most important things in general cause wtf else have i done?) to be dead, but especially right now when everything else feels so stagnant. when you derive your sense of purpose from how you spend your time it’s hard not to feel like a total hack at life when you stop doing anything ever.
world is shit has been in the most frustrating state since forever, my new band that might actually happen is the scariest shit ever, i fucked up my back and am terrified of lifting heavy anymore (this has admittedly been the most important part of my life for two years), it feels like my favorite people are constantly leaving, and i am just a generally lonely dude who doesn’t get over things.
i once tried explaining to a partner who didn’t want me to tour why it was absolutely necessary if i was gonna ever even do anything, and i’m pretty sure it made me question whether or not i was just a total shit person.
Now that tumblr's mostly dead maybe I should start using it to complain

Hello world! After nearly 5 amazing years of playing music together and driving/flying thousands of miles on tour, Curmudgeon has decided to call it quits. Happily, our last set will be played at our favorite show of the year: Smash it Dead Fest in Boston! We’re not sure exactly when we are playing, but we promise it will be an awesome weekend and that we will cry a lot. Expect dirt-cheap merch to be posted on the internet soon. Thank you everyone who has supported us, put out or listened to our records and booked, fed, housed and entertained us on tour. punk is the best <3

Love this song. Was later released as “White Lines” and at various points was intended for a few abandoned Neil Young records in the 70s before appearing on Ragged Glory in 1990. This version is superior and was recorded in maybe 1975 or 1976?
i disagree that this version is superior to the ragged glory recording but it's way more plodding and thats pretty cool. one of my favorite crazy horse jams.

Neil Young is my hero, and such a great example. You know what that guy has been doing for the past 40 years? Making music. That’s what that guy does. Sometimes you pay attention, sometimes you don’t. Sometimes he hands it to you, sometimes he keeps it to himself. He’s a good man with a beautiful family and wonderful life.

Tour was great. Canada was cool, seeing Limp Wrist was sick, we didn't suck at all, and Greg says I blast fast enough. Lima, OH was my favorite date and got me excited about playing grind shows with WIS. I care about donuts now and learned to draw skulls.
