Context: Starting NotaSchool (see: Not-a-Box) and the Hamilton soundtrack has shaped a lot of my thinking. I’d like to peruse collections of quotes, short stories, primary sources, concise biographies, or really anything else my lovely tumblr pals might suggest. Essentially looking to learn more from their stories of strength, innovation, success, failure, creativity from constraint, leadership... and how they shaped each others’ stories (teamwork, relationships, working with family and friends even though their work roles held rank...).
4 yrs ago 4th graders taught me about life, Chromebooks, SAMR, personalized learning, and what happens when you unleash kid voices on a district PD event one Saturday in Nov. Today I got a video of 5th graders explaining their learning process, from "We want to sew" all the way to "a YouTube video, a book about sewing, a machine manual..oh and this is the foot and that's the bobbin..." in part, because I helped some cool kids build a wicked fun Makerspace/STEAM Lab, flexible classroom... #YouMatter #DontForget #PayItForward #Gratitudes
