Note to those wishing to learn/looking for the reference, this is a version American sign language! May not translate right through America, and it almost definitely will not translate around the rest of the world, though it may come close.

Here’s some advice. Stay alive.

For millennia, creatures have walked the earth, people with powers have hidden amongst humans, and monsters have been found lurking in cupboards. Until ten years ago, the human forgot, passed it off as a prank, mysteriously disappeared. And then the truth started to sink in. The monsters under the bed were real.

When the supernaturals were discovered by humans, war broke. It was inevitable.

But no one ever thought the humans would win.

They developed weapons, found protections, and showed a force of will entirely unexpected. In the end, they simply outnumbered the supernaturals, killing, capturing, and driving away what used to be their greatest predators. Some can now be found in camps, some in hiding, some somehow finding ways to blend with the humans.

The first year since the humans won, and they’re ready to celebrate their victory against the vampires, demons, werewolves and witches. The creatures are hardly silent about the atrocities served against them during the war, and even the whisper of rebellion makes them agitated in the camps. What better way to kill two birds with one stone than an event? A brutal, cruel event. What could go wrong?

To be picked randomly from the camps, a handful of supernatural ‘tributes’ will be chosen to participate in a game of survival. Only one will emerge alive, and if it’s you, you’ll be granted your freedom. The game is harsh, and the odds are stacked against you, because it won’t just be your fellows who are keen to spill some blood. There’ll be hunters, and there’ll be traps. Keep your wits about you, your fangs pointy, and your eyes peeled.

And may the odds be ever in your favor.

The 100

97 after a devastating nuclear war wiped out almost all life on Earth. The only known survivors are the residents of twelve space stations in Earth’s orbit prior to the war. The space stations banded together to form a single massive station named “The Ark”, where about 2,400 people live. Resources are scarce and all crimes no matter their nature or severity are punishable by death (“floating”) unless the perpetrator is under 18 years of age.

Crimes aren’t exclusive to theft or assault; in this verse, being a supernatural creature is also a punishable crime. Vampires, werewolves, witches, demons– everyone is monitored closely, and at the first sign of inhuman qualities, is arrested for endangering other passengers. One hundred juvenile prisoners (all supernatural) are declared “expendable” and sent to the surface in a last ditch attempt to determine if Earth is habitable again.
