The Dua Of Yunus

The Prophet [ﷺ] and he said:

«ألا أخبركم بشيء، إذا نزل برجل منكم كرب أو بلاء من بلايا الدنيا دعا به يفرج عنه؟ فقيل له: بلى، فقال: دعاء ذي النون: لا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين.» ❝’Shall I not inform you with a matter, that if a calamity or a trial from the trials of the Duniya befall a person and then he makes Dua with this matter he will be free from that calamity?’ It was said to him: ‘Of course.’ He said: ‘The Dua of Yunus: ‘There is none worthy of worship except You, free are You from imperfection and indeed I am from the oppressors.’❞ Silsilah Saheehah, (No. 1744)

George Murch, member of the French resistance and veteran of the Great war, Château de Beaumesnil, France, August 30, 1944.

George Murch, an Englishman born in Hampshire was a Sgt. Major in WW1. After the war he married a Frenchwomen and settled down in the village of Beaumesnil. Murch served as the French interpreter between the French resistance and the allied forces. He was also responsible for the escape of allied airmen.

وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ.

Ibn Faris said:

إذا كنت تؤذي بحر المصيف *** ويبس الخريف وبرد الشتاء

ويُلهِيك حسن زمان الربيع *** فأخذك للعلم قل لي  متي؟

If you’re bothered by the heat of the summer, the dryness of autumn and the coldness of winter… and you’re distracted by the joys of spring then tell me… When will your gaining of knowledge ever be?
