i love how with most of the cast, you can pretty much tell how they rolled based on their reactions.

like if marisha rolls bad, she’ll do a little head shake, but if she rolls good, she’ll go “ok ok ok.” and if liam rolls bad, he’ll say “balls,” but if he rolls good, he’ll sort of clench his fist in celebration.

but sam reacts the exact same for all his rolls. he’ll roll the dice, glance at his ipad, and say the number confidently, whether it’s a natural one or a natural twenty.

There’s so much that happens in this conversation about Molly

- Travis spitting with laughter

- Sam’s fear as Laura slams the table

- Liam’s delight as Laura gets more intense

- Liam softly whispering “what the fuck is a shotgun”

- Taliesin’s face the entire time

-  “….and he was basically a god”   “he wasn’t”

- Taliesin and Travis’ synchronised head shakes and face palms as Beau hands the tarot cards over

Beauregard Lionette, delinquent rich girl who got shipped off to Monk School, ran away from Monk School, got recruited for Secret Dark Monk School, uses her Secret Dark Monk cred almost exclusively to get her Wizard-Assassin-School-dropout friend into The Fancy Libraries™, lets her Secret Dark Monk Mentor crash in the mansion a semi-immortal elf queen gave her for returning a sacred artifact that she once used to win a drinking contest, I’m not going anywhere with this text post I just think we need to appreciate how weird Beau’s life is.

So I lost my temper with all of the “books you must read before you die” “books to read to be considered well-read” lists that were like, at least 75% male, and made a different list. Obviously it’s skewed by what I’m familiar with, but I’ve tried to get it to be a broad range. Give it a go!

So I misread this link title as ‘Become Very Well-Read Without Reading Anything,’ by, A Man, and I was like, ‘yeah, that fucking scans, lots of dudes act like they’re well-read when they don’t know fuck all.’

I’ve spent the last several days poring over the map of Tal’dorei from the Tal’dorei Campaign Guide, as well as all four maps of Wildemount and the map of Tal’dorei made by Deven Rue. This gigantic 5488 x 3432px map is the fruit of my labors.

Thanks to Wildemount’s close proximity to Tal’dorei, we know that we can use the same scale from the Campaign Guide’s map for the other continent,

Every single location, from Kingdoms to rivers, capital cities to villages, and mountain ranges to roads, are all labeled.

Just as in old maps, the monsters represent unmapped regions. We know Eiselcross is north of Wildemount, but we don’t know how far or exactly what it looks like. The Shattered Teeth are south of Wildemount, but again, we don’t know how far. We also don’t know what land is east of the Penumbra Range, and what the eastern coast of Wildemount looks like.

Let me know if you see any errors, I’d love to have them corrected asap!

You ever think about all the different parallels between specifically Nott, Fjord, Caleb and Yasha.

Caleb & Fjord: Handsome charmers who slip on intimidating personas like a second skin and have issues with feeling like they need to be “useful” bc obviously the more their friends know about them the less they’ll LIKE them, duh

Yasha & Nott: Gals who collect flowers as a way to cope with the concept of death (as an outlet of grief and a token to prevent it) who #putaringonit and are on opposite ends of the “dead wife” problem

Nott & Fjord: Team GREEN! Team OUTCAST! Team BULLIED AS CHILDREN! Team DROWNING VICTIMS! Team “I was a perfectly normal member of society and then Some Bullshit happened”!

Caleb & Yasha: Traumatized brainwashed killers with long memory gaps who feel responsible for their loved one’s deaths and are soft spoken and gentle (and are apparently both prone to Mindfuckery for the purposes of Unsuspecting Murder)

Nott & Caleb: Cagey and overtly suspicious “ride or die” types from the modest rural Empire areas who have soft spots for families, lofty magic goals that they don’t even know are possible, and are on opposite ends of the “dead parent” problem

Yasha & Fjord: When you don’t remember tying yourself to a very powerful evil being who’s in the cult business but apparently you did and the evil being tries to force you to help them #breakthoseancientseals but then a WAY COOLER god who you barely understand helps you out
