Just genuinely curious, do you still believe the end times are soon? I see Christians always thinking the eclipse or something is going to start it and I'm curious why??

Also I love your GO art <3

Much love!

hey, thanks for enjoying my art! ^-^ yeah, i definitely believe we’re in the end times right now. i didn’t think the eclipse was gonna be the “Kick Off” moment, but i was watching it for a number of reasons.

in Genesis 1:14, God says He created the sun, moon, and stars to be “signs and seasons”, so that’s why Christians watch what’s going on in the sky (astronomy, not astrology).

in 2017, the US had a solar eclipse that drew a line across the country. it went through a bunch of cities named Salem (after “Jerusalem” meaning peace/blessing). then 7 years later, we had this recent eclipse that drew another line that crossed over the first, creating an X. that line went through a bunch cities named Nineveh (like the story of Jonah, symbolically meaning judgement). the period of God’s Final Judgment in the end times is 7 years.. so IF that were to kick off this year, it would be like God was saying “7 years of blessing, 7 years of judgment.” He did the same thing in the story of Joseph. Pharaoh had two dreams of the future of his country: 7 years of blessing and 7 years of famine.

there were other things about it, but over all, it was a pretty interesting sign! the reason we Christians are watching is because we’re waiting on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to come get us before that judgment happens. God will judge the whole earth for its sins, but our sins have already been paid by the blood of Jesus. so we’re looking to our Blesses Hope; getting to go home to be with the Lord. and we’ve been warning people because we see the danger coming and we want everyone to be saved and rescued too 😊💙✝️

"For God has not appointed us (for His) wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we're alive or dead, we (shall) live together with Him." (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10)

Woah, to see you post again is a little wild! I used to follow you on deviantart, genuinely like a decade ago at this point. We chatted quite often!! I would have been a pre-teen, and I just turned 25. I think of you often, as you helped me branch my creativity and designs out :))

You were a huge inspiration to me, and I’m glad to see you still around <3 hope life treats you well :)

aaw thankyou so much! i appreciate hearing that 🥹 i actually still post frequently on my DA, and my art blog @10yrsyart. but this account is just my main for reblogging, and i don’t peruse my tumblr dash much anymore hahah. i hope you’ve been doing well! 💙

Have you ever lost someone before? How did you deal with that?

Faith is.. rocky. I'm rediscovering it after a loss but it's a trust fall I just can't complete fully. How do I know there's an afterlife when I have no signs? How do you just trust?

i’ve dealt with lost, though not to the extent that some people have. but i know how crushing it is. Jesus is the only one that i can turn to for support with loss, and i say this with all seriousness. deep mourning is something that can’t be touched by the physical, and only He can bring comfort spiritually where there’s no comfort.

it’s not blind faith though. why do i believe in Heaven? because i believe what Jesus said and did.

He preached He was the Son of God and the only way to Heaven, He performed miracles, and He raised the dead. ancient historians confirmed He made these claims and miracles. He died on the cross for our sins, and the Romans confirmed His literal death. He was buried and on the third day His grave was empty, confirmed by his enemies the Pharisees. and He rose to life again and appeared to over 500 witnesses, including His apostles, who were brutally murdered for their accounts of this. you don’t die for a lie if you know it’s a lie, especially if you have nothing to gain.

He fulfilled over 300 prophecies of the Old Testament, that were written thousands of years before He was born (which is statistically should be impossible.) billions of people have testified to being radically and completely changed by faith in Him over the last 2000 years. and that’s barely scratching the surface of all the evidence God has left for us.

so when Jesus said, “There are many rooms in My Father’s house. If it were not so, would I have told you I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so you will always be with me where I am” (John 14:2-3), i believe Him. the only way to combat mourning is hope, and the Blessed Hope of eternal life with the Lord is a solid foundation to rest on.

“The Lord is close to the broken hearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” (Psalm 34:18). “God blesses those who mourn for they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4) ✝️💙

I think your interpretations of the Bible and visualization of Jesus and God was what led me on the path to rediscovering my faith and relationship with God. Just wanted to stop by and thank you for that, kinda funny that it started from me liking your Good Omens comics lol

thankyou so much Anon.. you don’t know what that means to me 🥹 it’s truly humbled and blessed me to hear that 💙💙💙

I also saw that twitter post and thought I recognized the art, it made me pretty upset to see them making fun of your art like that. Like, right now it’s much more widespread to draw the turtles as poc, but it certainly wasn’t as widespread not too long ago, and I think it’s very unfair of them to hold up such old art to current standards. At the very least I think it was scummy of them to go so far back just to find art they could make fun of. I hope you don’t take any of this to heart, and I recommend not checking out the post for your own self care, the people commenting don’t seem to have any context for it

thankyou to the people looking out for me and my art! i didn’t go looking for the post (cause who needs that drama XD), but the reposter has been in contact with me. they’ve taken it down and expressed that it wasn’t their intent to mock. i’m not super offended though, comments that have no context to the original 10 yr old work shouldn’t be taken seriously. please don’t rag on them anymore, i don’t want any parties to be harassed. people are more important than art ✊ and thankyou all again for supporting me 💗

i’m not really sure how to start this message tbh, and idk what can be done about it, but i wanted to let you know that your art of the different iterations of tmnt as humans has been reposted on twitter with the intent to mock it. i guess the most recent iteration of tmnt, rise of tmnt, has coded the turtles as black? so these ppl are saying your versions are “too white” or “white washed.” which imo is really not fair of them to say. its fucked up that they thought it was ok to repost someone else’s art and make fun of it, for any reason. i don’t think i can link it, but the name of the twitter account is oreosmoothussy . they made the post on june 14th

hey man, thanks for letting me know! tbh there’s not much to do about it. that art is super old and i already decided many years ago that it was “too white” for my own standards too. if they bother to find the original post on deviantart, they would see that 😂 but even so, i agree that none of what they’re doing is right. humanizations of non human characters is up to the individual artist (excluding blatant attacks on ethnicity of course), and art shouldn’t be stolen just to be mocked like that. artists have to start SOMEwhere if they want to grow their skills, and they usually start with what they know. i have much more variety now and that’s only because i kept trying.

Nobody understands Kingdom Hearts that well cause everybody compares it to shonen anime when it's actually a magical girl anime because it has:

-A protagonist who is an ordinary lad who got given a special power that could save the universe

Teammates that the protagonist can lean on and who help the protagonist with said special power

Image

A love interest heavily involved in the plot that both motivates the protagonist and is motivated by the protagonist

A monster of the week format that has its own standalone conflict that eventually leads to the next major plot point in the story

Overarching themes about love and friendships and connections and identity

So, in my experience, a shonen anime can have these things and in many cases does. I think what mainly differentiates a shonen from a magical girl anime is that shonen places emphasis on physical strength and magical girl anime places emphasis on emotional strength.

Kingdom Hearts is unique in that it’s pretty much a shonen protagonist running around in a universe that operates on magical girl values. Sora begins as a 14 year old boy who wants to get stronger, to physically best his rival Riku. Sora spends much of KH1 relying on the Keyblade’s might, eager to put his battle skills to the test and become a hero.

But Sora doesn’t really become a hero until he declares that his power doesn’t come from his weapon but his friends. He doesn’t need a sword. He has his heart.

From here on, the series consistently demonstrates that the heart is always mightier than the fist. But Sora himself struggles to see the value in compassion and understanding over physical prowess and capability, thereby failing to recognize his own inherent strength.

They are without a doubt his greatest strengths, but he still perceives these traditionally feminine values as inferior to the masculine values someone like Hercules, at first glance, represents in the face of a fight. The height. The muscles. The godly strength. Sora wants to be just like Hercules.

(Which is ironic since Herc’s whole thing is how a hero isn’t measured by the size of their strength but the strength of their heart. But it’s not like Sora has watched the movie.)

This is why the aftermath of failing the Mark of Mastery Exam is such a blow to Sora’s self esteem. Why the taunting by villains about how puny and weak Sora is gets to him. Sora thinks he’s useless if he can’t fight. He thinks learning the Power of Waking is all about getting his physical strength back.

And while physically grinding like he does in KH3 doesn’t hurt; war is upon them, after all… it doesn’t really bring him closer to the Power of Waking, right? Because the PoW has nothing to do with how well you can throw a punch, swing a sword, cast a spell.

It’s strength of heart. Strength of feelings and connections. Again, the things Sora is gifted at. Mastering the PoW in KH3 would’ve been a breeze if Sora wasn’t thinking like a shonen protagonist and instead recognized and accepted his inherent, “feminine” strengths.

All this is to say, I think it’s hard to define Kingdom Hearts as shonen or magical girl because it really is like, hey let’s throw this shonen protagonist into a magical girl story and see what happens! And what happens is Sora lmao

Planetary Nebula Abell 7 : Very faint planetary nebula Abell 7 is some 1,800 light-years distant, just south of Orion in planet Earth’s skies in the constellation Lepus, The Hare. Surrounded by Milky Way stars and near the line-of-sight to distant background galaxies, its generally simple spherical shape, about 8 light-years in diameter, is outlined in this deep telescopic image. Within its confines are beautiful, more complex details enhanced by the use of narrowband filters. Emission from hydrogen is shown in reddish hues with oxygen emission mapped to green and blue colors, giving Abell 7 a natural appearance that would otherwise be much too faint to be appreciated by eye. A planetary nebula represents a very brief final phase in stellar evolution that our own Sun will experience 5 billion years hence, as the nebula’s central, once sun-like star shrugs off its outer layers. Abell 7 itself is estimated to be 20,000 years old. Its central star is seen here as a fading white dwarf some 10 billion years old. via NASA
