Things that hit me in the chest and cause me emotional distress include this posture that Gwyn adopts. He doesn't just cover his mouth with a palm the way you might expect, he curls into himself with both hands the way a cat does when they want to block out a bright light. There's an honesty about it. It's such a raw gesture, like he's trying to block out physical pain.

As an autistic person with chronic ouch disease, it just spoke to me bc there's a level of Social Awareness/Masking that gets switched off when pain hits a certain intensity. The way he's holding his hands is "weird" and reminds me of something I might do if I were hurting too much to care anymore.
